Dis Arena.
The grand gate, akin to the mouth of a colossal beast, slowly opened. A plethora of oddly-shaped creatures queued up in neat lines, gradually entering the darkness inside.
Every creature entering the arena paid a greenish-gold round currency called 'Soul Coin' at the entrance. Like gold coins, the majority of the Soul Coin composition is gold.
Devils who wish to plot in the Prime Material Plane inevitably need substantial wealth; hence, gold and gemstones are popular trading items in the Nine Hells. However, since ordinary gold coins wear out easily in the harsh environment of Hell, other materials are added to Soul Coins: 15% soul remnants (useless by-products after souls are converted into Inferior Demons), 5% Barto-green wrought iron (a rare green metal unique to Hell), and 5% mixed materials (unrefined metals such as copper, lead, tungsten, and other substances like bone powder, sulfur, etc.).
