Like lightning, the battleaxe cleaved through the joint of a Black Ant-man's chest and abdomen, cutting it in half. The remaining Ant-men retaliated with a shower of poison spears. The Ant-men who threw their weapons then pulled out freshly made chitin weapons, dripping with slime, from the poisonous stingers on their abdomens.
Bartlett rolled forward just in time, looking a little awkward but effectively dodging the concentrated long-range attack.
Don't underestimate the power of a 'roll,' an ungraceful action. In the hands of an elite adventurer, it can have an incredible effect, even equivalent to invincibility.
