The enchanted rope pulled the barbarian Adventurer, as he climbed up bit by bit.
The Magic Tower wasn't very tall from the surface of the lake, only about twenty meters or so. One end of the magical rope was tied by the dwarf mage to a protruding deep purple crystal above the door, while the other end was tied around Bartlett's waist. Relying on magic power, the rope contracted like an earthworm, by itself.
However, the speed of the enchanted rope's retraction was quite slow, leaving Bartlett bored, hanging in midair.
This was the second time he was so close to the sky. The last time was when he had climbed a towering fir tree in the Foggy Forest during his earlier days.
Bartlett could not quite remember why he had been foolish enough to climb the tree back then. Perhaps it was due to a dull bet or an inescapable brag. In any case, climbing a forty or fifty-meter-high fir tree was just one of many conspicuous stupidities he had done in his life.
