In the center of Lake Village was a small square, where a totem pole carved from a whole basswood tree stood tall.
The totem pole was divided into seven layers, each carved with a grotesque animal totem: a giant turtle at the bottom, followed by a wild deer, a seated wolf, a berserk bear, a lake trout, a hawk, and finally, a one-eyed giant at the top.
At this moment, many villagers from Lake Village were gathered around the totem pole. Most of them were women, interspersed with a few young boys. After all, at this time, most of the men were out on their boats, busy with their tasks.
In the center of this crowd stood a young bard wearing a tricorn hat adorned with brightly colored feathers, a brown cloak decorated with floral patterns, and carrying a lyre in his hands.
The bard leaned against the totem pole, playing a beautiful melody on his lyre while singing an enchanting ballad accompanied by a somewhat melancholic tune.
