Bartlett staggered through the streets of Ram's Horn Town, and many undead along the way noticed him as an oddity. However, they did not attack or try to "correct" his existence. Instead, they just stood in place, watching him with eyes full of deathly silence. Their gazes were full of longing, nostalgia, and most of all, confusion.
Six or seven Corpse Eater Ghouls crawling on all fours followed Bartlett like hyenas. These undead creatures were the embodiment of hunger and greed, their souls marked with an unquenchable hunger curse from the moment they were created. Even the command from Viscount Fred could not completely suppress the effect of the curse.
So, on the one hand, the ghouls wanted to tear Bartlett's body apart and devour the sweet, living flesh of the living; on the other hand, they were too intimidated by Viscount Fred's orders to attack on their own.
Therefore, they maintained their distance, hoping that the injured Bartlett would fall on his own.
