Treasure?
Upon hearing this word, Bartlett's mind found it laughable, but his heart couldn't help but race anyway. It was as if he knew something was fake but still clung to it every night; someone who was impossible to obtain, yet he still called her "wife".
Enough said.
Regardless, for most adventurers, the word 'treasure' held an irresistible allure. This temptation was innate and inseparable from the very essence of being an adventurer, and Bartlett was no exception.
"You mean there's treasure here?" The barbarian adventurer blurted out unconsciously.
"It seems you don't know, which is good!" The diminutive dwarf mage breathed a sigh of relief, "I just didn't expect such a remote and closed-off place would have visitors."
"I'm just a passerby." Bartlett explained, "I followed a deer's tracks and ended up here. I wanted it for dinner, but now it seems there's no need." He tried to probe the other, "Besides, you're here too, aren't you? If you can be here, why can't I?"
