Inside the "Cod Fish Tragedy" inn.
The halfling boss didn't get angry at Bartlett's rude act of taking his gold coin. Instead, he spoke in a gentle voice towards the gold coin in Bartlett's hand:
"Come, little darling, don't be naughty. Come to daddy." He then showed an apologetic smile to Bartlett, "I'm sorry, she's a bit shy and doesn't like strangers holding her. Let me take her back." The halfling stretched more than half of his body out from the counter, swiftly snatched the gold coin back from Bartlett, and carefully observed it in his own hand.
Although this little guy in front of him was extremely greedy, he wasn't very good at doing business. If it weren't for the overly expensive dishes, the "Cod Fish Tragedy" might not be this deserted. Of course, Bartlett didn't understand business matters, but he was good at slaughtering his enemies.
