The entrance to the Underworld is a deep pit in the vast hills, outside of which grows an unparalleled huge ginkgo tree. The leaves of the ginkgo tree are verdant and green, and its lush canopy extends in all directions, covering more than half of the pit.
"Gary, is it true that this tree has a lifespan of tens of thousands of years?" William walked around the tree trunk and took more than a dozen heartbeats' worth of time. The ginkgo tree was too big; although its height wasn't extraordinary, its trunk was thick enough to rival a small castle.
"Anyway, most people think so." The goblin led the goat over and tied the mount to a root protruding from the ground.
"Does that mean that this tree already existed when your goblin race was still the ruler of this continent and had not yet declined?" William looked up at the tree canopy and marveled.
