Chapter 1 - INTRODUCTION

Be my guest, if you think people would always get your back when it comes to the fights you're gonna meet in life. It doesn't matter who you are, being it a president, governor, king, prince, one loved by everyone, or whatever, as far as you are part of this universe, you are all alone, by yourself, fighting the world in which you live. The sooner you realize this, the more prepared you are, 'cause what is really ahead of you, you would need only you alone to face it, figure it out, fight it, and fulfill the cause for it happening!

Why do you think you are not legally permitted, no matter the circumstances, to use someone else's identity, even if it were your identical twin? This is because you are absolutely different from every other single individual person that has ever lived and that still lives. The existence of millions of people in the world doesn't in any way alter your presence, 'cause you are spectacularly and distinctively unique in your very own way.

*Who are 'YOU'?

1. You are Y - Yourself. You are yours, and you belong to yourself. Every person has their own cross to carry. You came to earth alone (even if you were twins or triplets, or whatever). And when it's time to leave, no one is gonna leave with you, however the amount of love they've got for you.

2. You are O - On your own. Most times when the one I love passes through any physical pains (body pain or health challenge), I always wish I could literally absorb some or all of the pain to myself just to see her get better. Strong love, right? Hmm... If wishes were indeed horses...

You would have to pass through the pain by yourself, because it is you alone who happens to be the resident in the world of yours. People could share in your life by being part of your life but you can't share your life among them so that they could taste of your destiny, no. You might be comforted or pitied but you remain the carrier of the pains and plight and plague of your life.

3. You are U - Unyoked. That is to say, you are not connected to anyone by virtue of destiny or accomplishments. I would literally feel your pains in my body, if love could yoke us through our bloodstreams. Hey, it doesn't work that way.

You attend school, you might be paired with others on a project, or as reading partners, yet you are meant to face the exams alone.

In another perspective, though you seem to be alone, yet you are majority in yourself.

You are like,

1. Yacht. "A slick and light ship for making pleasure trips or racing on water, having sails but often motor-powered. At times used as a residence offshore on a dock." In other words, you have a big world to call your world residing in you. So, another name for this book could be, "Your world against the world." You with your God and loved ones could be your world, struggling to overcome the world.

2. Overabundance. "An excess of that which is needed or is appropriate." In other words, you are more than enough to survive in a world full of confusion, crises, calamities and criticism. Single you can go against the pattern, play, programme and power of this world, and choose to do it your own way and still succeed. Your making it isn't in the hand of any man. It's in your hand, because it's your world to rule.

3. Unlimitedness. "The characteristic of being unlimited; infinity." This means, there're no limits to what you can achieve, or where you can conquer. The world might be wide and wild, but you are a warrior and a winner. Which is why you can go to the ends of the world and dominate.

Now, what does it mean to be ALONE?

*A - allowed. You could choose to do whatever pleases you. I learnt of a young man who was frustrated with life. Life had treated him so unfair and unjust, so he thought of ending his life. Family members tried to make him understand how important he was, and friends encouraged and promised to help in the best way they could, neighbors around even contributed to ensuring he changed his mind about it. He accepted all of their efforts to make him better, yet when they left, he went ahead to still do what he wanted anyway. And I learned of another person who was written off by virtually everyone who knew him, because they thought he was good for nothing, but never did he allowed himself to be controlled by what anyone felt or thought about him. He went ahead to make it and succeed despite the odds.

Well, you are allowed to do whatever you want. It's your life, and that is why you have a free will.

*L - limited. Though you are allowed and unlimited (like I mentioned), yet you are limited in certain areas. Your strength, your freedom, your knowledge, they are all limited. That's why God said, "It's not good for man to be alone..." And so, He created someone who would assist him. If he could do everything all by himself, or has all the knowledge all by himself, then he wouldn't need anyone to help him. We (being it man or woman) all need someone as we go through the journey in life.

*O - obligated. You have a duty that you must do all by yourself, bills to pay, laws to obey, and so on. You are restricted from doing certain or many things even though your will is yours and your life belongs to you. You still cannot just go into any store and get whatever you want and leave like you are some kind of a superman that needs no questioning. If it were so, then there wouldn't be any need for law, which is why it's said that there's no sin where there's no law.

*N - neglected. General people don't really care about you. Has anyone ever walked up to you on the road and asked about your welfare, or if all is well with you? Everyone is after their own. If you try to beg for food, you would only be mocked and insulted by people. No one would wanna know why anyone's life is what it is. They would only keep judging when they see you, whether in trouble, or being blessed or whatever.

*E - envied. You can't be good enough for people; you can't be poor enough just to have your own peace; and you can't be so wealthy enough to satisfy people either.

When you talk less, you are considered a coward, when you talk much you are considered wayward, and when you don't talk at all, you are considered awkward. There's nothing you can do to please anybody. Christ our Lord went as far as giving His life, yet only very few value it. If it were possible for one's spirit to be hunter even after death, trust me, people would still be hunted in the great beyond.

In the first place, envy was why Lucifer chose to deceive man. "How could man enjoy such a great paradise?" So he thought, and decided to do what he did!
