January 1st 1910
It was a cold winter morning in a small fishing town off the coast of Chingkoa, Korea.
The town of around 100 Koreans, equally divided upon genders has been growing by the amount of children a family has desired in their life.
The Kojis were no different.
Jung Koji, the Patriarch of the family, has been a noble fisherman supplying the town with fish along with 4 others for around 10 yrs, starting on the day after his honeymoon with his beloved wife, Jina, and later his two kids, Sunji and Kima.
The town had been recently taken over by the Japanese and there intentions would soon be known to the little town.
It all started in a small brick house which was occupied by the Kojis and in the back lay a small girl in wool pajamas sleeping away while her older brother was studying for school to attend in the next two hours.
The girl slowly awoke and she smiled giddily at her brother being up and ready for "play".
She ran over in bare feet across the wood floor and stood near Sunji. Sunji wasn't ready for any of this today so he lightly pushed her away and asked her to get him a glass of water.
She happily Obliged and ran into the kitchen were her mom, Jina was making a fish sandwich for the kids while her husband stayed away fishing downtown.
"Morning mommy." Said Kima as she hugged her mom from behind.
"Morning, young Kima, are you hungry?" Said Jina, smiling at her daughter.
"Yes, should I get Sunji?" Asked Kima.
"Yes Please"
Kima ran off and Jina heard a sibling conversation between the two kids of hers and she giggled, knowing nothing would ruin this happy morning.
Boy, was she wrong.
