Chapter 9 - To His Apartment

Senorita looked at Mr Qin's secretary and it was easy to tell that the man was not pleased about the fact that his boss had chosen her to be his wife, even though it was a contract marriage. She could also not tell the exact reason Mr Qin had not chosen someone else.

If he was not interested in getting married, he could have picked a random woman—not that she wasn't a random one but Senorita thought that he could have picked a better woman.

On seeing him, he looked like a rich man who would want a partner who could be rich and more beautiful, and countless women held that quality but he just picked a randomly half-drunk woman.

Lorenzo gave Davis a sign and understanding what he meant, Davis walked to Senorita and uttered, "Young Miss, since you are unstable, I will support you to the car."

"Thank...thank you," Senorita uttered. She felt a little strange because as Anne Mu, she had never been given such deference but the old Senorita; the body she had possessed now seemed to be used to it.

'This seems to be the right method of ensuring that my memory as Anne Mu still sticks to my brain.'

'I will have to point out the difference between Senorita and Anne, and with that, my memory as Anne would still be vivid.'

Senorita sighed as she tried to put her eyes on the people in the bar and tried to walk past the chairs with the help of Mr. Qin's secretary even though everything had started to rotate in front of her.

She told herself again, 'It is good that I am not losing myself completely. The fact that...I can tell that I was treated with deference... tells that I have not forgotten myself as Anne. As Anne, I have lived poorly my entire life. When my father was alive, we lived poorly too but not as poor as we did when he died. Father...he was so lovely.'

Tears flowed down her cheeks freely and she immediately wiped them off with the back of her palm.

At last, both of them were in the car. Lorenzo sat in the front passenger seat, leaving the woman alone at the back.

After some minutes, Lorenzo looked at the interior mirror to check if the woman was fine at the back because he had seen her shed tears when she wanted to enter the car, however, he saw that she was fast asleep.

Davis looked to his right side to check his boss before he cleared his throat to call his attention. "Mr Qin, I do not think taking a woman at a bar is the right thing to do. The women you have rejected earlier...are definitely better options but I do not understand why you chose her. We have no idea about her background and..."

"You mean I should take those women whose motives are to destroy my company's image?"

"But...we can't say about this woman. As I have stated earlier, we do not have any idea about her background."

"That is something easy to work on later."

"Mrs Rachael Qin will not like it if she finds out she is from a poor back—"

"That is why I intend to create a better background for her. I can say she is my lover from the States who decided to stay with me here and I am ready to get married to her."

Davis continued driving even though he knew this was not a good decision. For once, his boss was not looking at the likely consequence of his actions. "If Mrs. Rachael Qin finds out that you lied to her, she will not only..."

Even though Davis could not entirely see his boss, he knew his boss was already getting irritated by his statement so he quickly changed it. "I hope she will be convincing enough for Mrs Rachael Qin. And I also hope Mrs Rachael Qin doesn't figure out her true identity."

Davis didn't speak after the statement, he knew more than to say more to his boss.

The ride continued smoothly and then at a certain point, they were delayed by traffic for more than twenty minutes.

After a while, they pulled off at Lorenzo's apartment.

"Mr. Qin, should we break the deal between our company and Gathwa Corporation? They refused to show up this night as scheduled."

Lorenzo unhooked his seatbelt and came out of the car. "No, we will still give them a chance. At least, if they had not chosen the location of the meeting, I would not have met the woman."

"If you say so, Mr Qin."

"Carry her to the guest room. When she wakes up tomorrow morning and we learn the basic details, print out the contract, and then let her sign."

After Lorenzo was done speaking with his secretary, he walked to his apartment leaving a marvelled Davis.

Davis opened the back door to view the sleeping woman. "I just hope Mrs Rachael Qin will be not wise enough to discern that you aren't what she is made to believe."

After assessing her look, Davis carried Senorita princess style into Mr Qin's apartment.
