Alexsandra's POV
I hear someone calling out to me but my eyes feel very heavy, and I'm not opening them any time soon. If I'm in heaven then I want to stay here forever. I followed the small light that was shining from afar and almost got there when I was pulled back by some kind of force and I hear the same voice calling out to me again.
Now that I'm half awake my head feels light, like I'm laying on clouds.
'What you're saying is pure nonsense.'
Like you can think of anything better.
I manage to open my eyes and I see someone... a man... but I don't seem to know him, I squint my eyes to see him properly but he vanishes in thin air and is replaced by someone else. The voice gets louder and louder and he seems to appear much better... That revolting voice belongs to Phil.... It's bloody Phil?!!
I'm dreaming.
'No you not, it's really happening babes.'
I... My eyes are functioning just well. So what's this?!!
Life is a complete scam, I escaped death and the first thing I see is this?!!
I look at him a few seconds to progress that he's here. He gives me his hand to help me sit up, I look at it hesitantly but I take it. I'm lost, what's going on here? He offers me water and I try my ultimate best to refuse it politely. Was it a dream? It can't be, it all felt real...
"Are you okay Lexi... you fell into to the pool during the welcoming session of Russell's family. You were unconscious by the time I got to you. Should I call the doctor?"
Pool? Russell's family session. That happened several months before... they tried killing me... so does that mean I defined all odds and went back in time?
'Of course you did, magnificent witch.'
Shut up non-existent conscious!!
I quickly take out my drip not caring of the pain and rush to the bathroom locking the door behind me. I look at myself in the mirror but I'm disturbed by the endless door shuffling and shouting, it's nothing I can't ignore. What happened to me?
Phil's POV
She finally woke up, I'm glad she's not badly injured, the doctor said as soon as she woke up she can be discharged so now we can go home. She looks lost but cute. She suddenly took of her drip in a roughly manner running to the bathroom, I'm surprised she even knew were it was since it was her first time in this hospital.
I tried opening the door only to find out that she had locked it. I knocked on the door a couple of times but still no reply.
"Lexi?!!! What's wrong?! Are you okay?!"
I wanted to knock again but decided not to. I moved a couple feet back wondering what might have happened. She's acting weird. The door opens and she comes out smiling, she had her hair straightened and she was constantly pulling down her dress.
"Do I need to get the doctor for you?"
"No it's fine, I just woke up so my head is all over the place. You don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine.
'Maybe she wanted my attention.'
"Don't act like that, next time. You are the granddaughter of the Andrew family. So mind your manners "
She looks at me and nods once... I expected more shouting and her begging me for forgiveness but this will do. I look at her with a stern face and tell her to sit down while I get her discharge papers... well that's what I wanted to say when she moved from me and sat down on the bed looking around the place like she could get pounced on anytime.
I signed the papers given by nurse and packed up her meds. Everyone at home will be so happy to see her... I wonder how Kristen... anyway that's not important. I walk up to her and stands up smiling, damn she's cute.
"Let's get home, I'm sure everyone will be happy to know you're okay."
I attempt to hold her hand so we can leave, but she pulls it behind her, from the day she turned fifteen I'd hold her hand and she found it comforting. Up until now I still feel the need to hold her hand and she never had a problem with it but now she won't hold hands with me?
"Let's go home."
She says that in the most sweetest voice and smiles leaving me at the door dumbfounded as ever. I won't ask or push about the matter, she said she her head is all over the place because that clearly has to be the case, but still...
After a quiet ride back home I expected us to have our funny chats just the we use to but her longest reply to my conversations were ' is that so? ' she kept looking out the window.
I feel so distant with her.
We finally arrived home and the first people we saw were Grandma and Grandpa. They were sitting in the living room watching the news when Lexi stopped at the door, looking at them. I stood with her to see what she was planning at when Grandma said the mist disturbing thing ever.
"She had to go ruin the Andrew family name by falling into that pool, how can she be so reckless?!!!"
She did nothing wrong!! Why does Grandma always think the worst of Lexi?
"She never meant for that to happen, she wasn't feeling well and she told us. Don't forget we were the ones who forced her to go there don't blame her, just pray our Sandra gets home quickly and safe."
"You are to kind to her she is just... Ahi!!! I always knew she was a mistake!!"
I know her better than anyone, she's probably planning ways to look for my attention. After what we both heard, I'm glad to give her my fullest of affectionate time.
I look back at her ready to comfort the broken clock. To my surprise her face showed nothing?... Nothing at all. She looked back at me giving me a 'I won't go in first look.' I take the first step and walk in the living room. Here goes nothing.
"We're home!!"
Grandpa jumped up upon hearing our arrival using his walking stick to rush up to Lexi.
"Sandra you brat!! Do you know how worried I was?!"
"Sorry Grandpa I never wanted to make you worry."
"It's fine come give your old man a big hug!"
They hug for some time and Lexi pulls away from the hug. I honestly thought that granny would at least act happy, all she did was pull her face looking at the side. I left the medication on the coffee counter and Kristen walks in being her bubbly self.
She sees Lexi and runs up to her opening her arms for a hug and Lexi pushes her to the side and goes upstairs to her room, making Grandma's face turn even more. What's the matter with her? Kristen looks at her for some time before walking to me and holds my hand.
"Did I do something wrong brother Phil?"
"You did nothing wrong, she's just... her head isn't in the right place."
"If that's the case, I hope she gets well soon. Are you not tired brother Phil, maybe we can walk in the garden for a while to destress."
"Don't worry about me Krissy, I'll be fine."
"That damn brat!! She is not even ashamed of her disgusting behavior. Why can she not be more like Kristen here! Listen to me Phil, quickly push the marriage arrangements so you and Kristen can finally settle down before that thing ruins things!!"
"Yes granny."
I don't want to marry Kristen but I have no choice but to.
We had our dinner and it was not the same without Lexi. She knew how to make the table lively. She didn't even come down to fetch her food. I can't put my finger on it but she's acting different. It can't be because of the pool accident.
She's cold towards us, Kristen's parents are coming over so she wanted to personally handle them, tomorrow once they arrive we'll be discussing the marriage proposal.
I always liked Lexi and I always knew she felt the same way, but marrying Kristen can put our family name on the bill boards, and it was the only way to make Grandma proud...
"Grandma listen..."
A loud scream came from the lounge accompanied by loud thudding. We quickly rushed to see what happened when I saw Kristen laying down the stairs unmoving and Lexi going up the stairs, she stopped when we arrived.
Kristen's condition doesn't scare me she didn't fall of from a distance.
What took me by surprise was Lexi's whole attitude towards this, she didn't seem to care. That look...
"Are you not taking her to the hospital? Her face has an unhealthy pale look."
What the hell?!!!
"Ohh... Once the Parker family arrives at the hospital send my greetings."
I quickly snapped back to reality when Lexi talks to me about taking Kristen to the hospital. Lexi never pushed her off, whatever it is that took place here. Lexi couldn't have done that.
I check for her pulse and it's still there, and pick her up bridal style quickly rushing to the car. Looks like Parker family is in for a ride.
