Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Sangeet Shenanigans

Rishabh's POV:

The Sangeet night had finally arrived, and the venue buzzed with the excitement that only an Indian wedding celebration could bring. Colorful decorations adorned the hall, and the beats of Bollywood songs filled the air, encouraging everyone to dance.

My gaze landed on Pragya, seated elegantly in a corner, like a calm oasis amidst the joyful chaos. She looked stunning in her traditional attire, and her gaze held a certain grace that captivated me.

The Sangeet, a prelude to my sister Shrishti's wedding, was a night filled with anticipation and celebration. Shrishti, the bride, was a vision in her intricate red and gold lehenga. She radiated happiness, her excitement palpable as she danced with my brother Ansh. Vihaan, the groom, couldn't take his eyes off her, and their love was evident in every gesture.

Couples twirled and swayed on the dance floor, their smiles reflecting the joy of the occasion. Family and friends gathered to celebrate the union of two souls, and the atmosphere brimmed with love and camaraderie.

I decided to make my way over to Pragya, determined to inject a touch of mischief into her evening. "Pragya!" I greeted her with a sly grin, ready to tease.

She turned to me, her eyes lighting up with surprise and amusement. "Rishabh! What a pleasant surprise."

"Surprises are my specialty," I replied, winking playfully. "But really, how are you enjoying the Sangeet?"

Pragya's laughter rang out, a delightful note in the midst of the celebration's cacophony. "It's been wonderful so far, especially the dance performances."

I nodded, glancing at the energetic crowd on the dance floor. "By the way, where is your energetic bestie?" She chuckled at my question and pointed to the dance floor. "There she is, dancing like a whirlwind," I laughed at her comment. "Speaking of dance, I heard you're quite the dancer. Are you keeping your moves hidden tonight?"

Pragya hesitated for a moment, her shy nature peeking through, but then she smiled and said, "Are you daring me to dance, Rishabh?"

I grinned, ready to stir some mischief. "Absolutely! Let's see if you can match my Bollywood moves."

Just as we were about to start dancing, there was a burst of energy as Shubhi, Pragya's vivacious best friend, joined us on the dance floor. Shubhi was known for her enthusiasm and her love for Indian weddings, and she couldn't resist the chance to dance.

Her family couldn't believe their eyes as Pragya, the usually reserved and shy family member, made her way to the dance floor. Even Vihaan, the groom, wore a look of sheer happiness as he watched his sister, Pragya, dancing at his Sangeet. It was a momentous occasion, the first time anyone had seen Pragya dancing, and it added a unique sparkle to the celebration.

The three of us laughed, danced, and even created our own quirky dance moves that had everyone around us cheering.

After a while, we decided to take a break. Shubhi was still brimming with energy and ready to dance some more, but Pragya and I were super tired. I couldn't help but wonder where Shubhi was getting all this energy from.

As we rested, Shubhi continued to talk animatedly. She seemed to have an endless supply of stories and anecdotes, and Pragya and I found ourselves mostly listening. It was then that I realized if I wanted to get closer to Pragya, Shubhi would be the key. She was the one who could bridge the gap between us and help us connect on a deeper level.

As we sat there, surrounded by Shubhi's lively conversation, I couldn't help but feel that this night marked the start of something wonderful. Amidst all the Sangeet fun, I had discovered a connection with Pragya and the potential for a beautiful friendship with Shubhi, the spirited friend who will bring me and pragya together.

Shubhi, with her knack for wedding gossip and knowing every detail of the celebrations, seemed to have insight into everything happening at the wedding.

In that moment, I realized that love and laughter would continue to brighten our lives, and perhaps, one day, my unspoken feelings might find their voice.
