Housekeeper, "..."
The housekeeper didn't turn around. Her footsteps never halted for a moment as she walked straight into the kitchen.
Moments later, the housekeeper carried out a tray. On it rested a bowl of chilled sour plum soup. In a white porcelain and gold-rimmed plate lay slices of watermelon, perfectly cut for a single bite, their red flesh contrasted against the green rind.
"Miss, please enjoy your meal."
"Great~"
Ming Ge picked up a slice of watermelon and took a bite, her eyebrows and eyes curving upwards.
Yin Ruowei's slender hand tightened around the hem of her dress, a flash of sharpness crossing her petite face. She lowered her voice and said, "Housekeeper, didn't you hear me asking you to fetch something for me from upstairs just now?"
After resting the tray, the housekeeper straightened her back, half turned, and looked utterly innocent and bewildered as she exclaimed, "Miss Ruwei, did you call me just now?"
