The boat rocked as Christol attempted to regain his footing, and he slipped and fell onto the deck. With the sea monster and the storms, Christol was unsure if they were even going to make it out of this situation without losing everything.
Christol turned to call for help, but he saw Flim and Artuck already attending to the sails while Meila was tying knots to secure the items on the deck. Cruu was picking up buckets of water and throwing them overboard, and Kobb was doing his damndest to steer the ship. Elizabeth, trying to regain her footing, picked up a cowering and sobbing Mitrax and helped him to the lower levels, where he wouldn't have to see the violent waves.
As Elizabeth opened the door to access the lower levels, the ship rocked once more, throwing everyone to their knees, and Mitrax fell straight through the now opened door.
"Tjornne damn it! Can someone please help the lizard man? He's clearly struggling."
Artuck yelled to have his voice heard over the roaring thunder and the crashing waves, but to Christol, it was barely a whisper.
Elizabeth closed the doors and nodded to Artuck, before she moved up the steps and took hold of the wheel from Kobb, who quickly jumped down the stairs and grabbed a rope, aiming to help. As Christol looked up at Elizabeth, he could see the massive raindrops running off of her metallic body, seemingly cleaning her from the dust and grime of the past few weeks. Artuck once again attempted to yell over the waves, and Christol strained to hear what he had said.
"Christol! What the hell are you doing just sitting there?! Grab a harpoon or something!"
Christol jumped up to his feet, and as the boat moved from side to side, he stuck out his arms and clumsily moved towards the side of the boat and grabbed a harpoon from the rack Meila had tied down not too long ago.
Kobb let go of the rope he had picked up and walked over to Christol, and attempted to take the harpoon from him, but Christol pushed Kobb's hands off of the harpoon.
"Let me help you, boy," Kobb said with a sinister twist in his voice.
"No thanks, Kobb. You really ought to go and help Meila tie stuff down before we lose more stuff."
Kobb grunted in disapproval, before rolling his eyes and shooting a nasty look at Christol as he walked away.
That man still gives me the creeps. Sheesh. Who knew someone so willing to help would be so… selfish?
The door to the lower levels opened, and a terrified Mitrax poked his head out, sheer panic betraying his normal confidence.
"The lower levels are flooding! What do I do?"
Kobb ran over to him and said something to Mitrax that Christol couldn't hear over the waves. He watched the two exchange a few words before Mitrax shrugged and Kobb entered, closing the door behind him.
"Christol, look out!"
Artuck pointed upwards, and as Christol looked to see what it was, a giant tentacle from the sea monster slammed down on top of him.
