Chapter 16 - Chapter 15

Adrian, sword in hand, was quick and agile, moving forward with great determination. His sword easily cut off the hands of the enemies, forcing them to retreat. The plague was slow, but its power could not be underestimated. It was cold and contagious, but it didn't dampen Adrian's will to fight.

Overwhelmed with fear, I stood still, not knowing how to react to this brutal battle. But my husband, Adrian, did not stop. He came closer and closer to the enemy, cutting off their hands one by one. He was hardy and courageous, not stopping even in front of the most terrible enemies. In the end, Adrian made a last desperate blow. With one sharp movement of the sword, he beat off the main demon's head, and his body was instantly reduced to ashes. The air was filled with the smell of a burning monster.

We stood still for a moment, enveloped in silence, feeling a flash of tension. The plague subsided, and the cold aura of the demons disappeared. We won, but what we saw remained in our memories as a terrible reality. Adrian moved closer to me, hugging and supporting me. We got out of this nightmare together, and it strengthened our bond even more. We knew there were many challenges in our future, but together we were invincible.

Everything was covered with ash, dead silence reigned around. But we knew that this was only one battle in the never-ending field of war against evil. We stood united, ready to overcome any obstacle that came our way. Because in our heart we felt a power that was much more powerful than any darkness that surrounded us. We are always ready to fight as long as there is hope, as long as there is love and will in our hearts. Because together we were indestructible, and our courage awakened the strongest forces in our world.

- Next, this is just the beginning, - he said and lowered the bloody sword.

- They split up. Now there are four problems at least, - I said, and then I was scared and just started to walk away, - The main thing is not to let them divide us. If this happens, they will be able to kill us one by one.

- You just have to try to find them. They won't leave the island without us dead. They themselves drove themselves into a trap, - he said and took hold of his head.

Weapons in hand, we stood with arms around each other, ready to meet any evil that surrounded us. Drops of red blood fell on the snow, testifying to our liberated power. We were freed from the illusion that weighed down our souls.

Hordes of twisted creatures continued to attack us, but we did not stop. Blow by blow, we destroyed them one by one, regardless of their numbers. Our strength was restored again, and we felt ourselves gaining the upper hand. But the more creatures we destroyed, the more new ones appeared. We realized that we were trapped in an illusion. Our thoughts were filled with determination, and we made a difficult decision. At the same time, we launched the weapon at ourselves, allowing red blood to drip onto the snow.

Flashing red, our blood began its ritual. And at the same moment, we became free from the trap of illusion. The creatures disappeared, crumbling into dust, and our hearts filled with renewed strength and will. We stood in the middle of the shattered battlefield, breathing heavily. It was calm. We looked into each other's eyes, feeling great unity and support. It was clear that we could overcome any obstacles that stood in our way.

Our footsteps sounded firm as we continued on our way. We did not know what awaited us next, but we were ready for any challenge. Our will was steadfast and our love was unbreakable. Together, we could defeat any evil that came our way.

-How did it happen... - I whispered.

-I do not know. But it is close, - he said and closed his eyes.

-Hills, - I shouted, seeing the snow rising five meters high.

In front of us, the dead came to life, statues that acquired a new life. They began to gather together, forming a large group. Their merciless eyes stared at us, and their movements were preternaturally quick and coordinated. Adrian and I stood in awe and wonder before these incomprehensible creatures. They were closing in on us, fast and unmistakable. Hadrian drew his sword, ready to fight, and I held my dagger ready to defend.

The battle has begun. We defended ourselves using our weapons and fighting skills. But these statues were immortal. Our blows simply chipped their stone bodies, but they continued to advance. Deadly power was noted in their eyes. They were merciless and extremely stubborn. Our strength began to decline, and we understood that we needed a different strategy. Hadrian saw arrows scattered on the floor and a large bench with burnt swords. He quickly understood that we must turn to the fire. He took off his cloak, soaked it in one of the stagnant bodies of water, and set it on fire. We began to spread cloaks, ignite swords and create barriers of fire.

The statues began to melt from the flames, to get out of control. They screamed in pain and looked increasingly disintegrated. We used this moment to hit them when they were most helpless. Finally, the statues fell to the ground, turning into chests of scattered stones. We were left stunned and exhausted as we surveyed this hot battlefield. Our victory was not easy, but we survived. Now, with the fortress behind us, we continued on our way. It was clear to us that the challenges were still ahead, but we were ready to do anything to overcome all the obstacles and find the answers we were looking for.

- Ahh, living flesh.... The living have not wandered here for a long time, - shouted a skeleton in a decorated helmet and rushed forward.

Hadrian and I stood stunned at the menacing sight of the giant that had formed from the united heads. He seemed immortal and extremely powerful. The huge giant seemed invincible. We scanned the giant for any signs of weakness. He moved uncertainly, trying to figure out how to control this new body made up of heads.

- You will not get out of there alive, - he shouted, a terrible otherworldly voice broke the dead silence, - Die.... Join…

-No way! - I shouted.

We continued our implacable battle, each blow and each attack delivered with great dedication and determination. Our movements were coordinated and our hearts filled with the fire of determination. The demons continued to explode into the darkness, shattering into pieces of green light. We realized that in order to destroy them, it is necessary to break all the skulls. This became our goal and we were not going to stop.

However, time passed quickly and we felt that it was not enough. The dagger disappeared in the struggle, but I quickly pulled out another weapon from under my dress. We did not allow ourselves to lose the rhythm of the battle, sticking together and supporting each other. We used all our skills, strength and resilience to resist the onslaught of demons. Every blow, every smile, every shout of our enemy was met by our unwavering will to win. Then, an unusually large wave of demons rushes towards us. They attack simultaneously, creating a deadly vortex of evil. We enter this unequal battle, fighting for every destiny, for every existence of our own.

"Mortals, where does your zeal come from," he shouted and collapsed. But unfortunately, he gathered again.

- Where do you get so much despair in us people, - I said. We are capable of something great.

-You abandoned us so that now some demon uses us as a toy. And you have to join us, - he shouted and covered us with blows.

- I don't understand this logic, - I said and made a displeased face and jumped away from the fist.

-Dead, and they don't have brains, - said Adrian and he smiled.

- You should fight, not mortals! - shouted the creature and displeasedly threw several skulls at us, which Adrian immediately chopped them up.

- What to do, mock? - I said, not thinking much and threw this phrase - I didn't do it already. You were never even alive.

- So? - he shouted. Exactly, he did not know this secret.

-Dead demon. It feeds on necro-energy, that's why such tricks. But I did not expect to meet him here. And because of how badly he plays his role, he is quite young, - I said and looked at the surprised skeleton with one eye, - And the actor is bad, he also proved everything to me with his behavior.

- Let's finish him off now, - shouted Adrian. He encased him in ice.

We were helpless before this new enemy that was beyond our understanding. He was an instrument of evil, an opponent we were not ready for. The demon with its eight pairs of eyes and two pairs of horns was striking in its terrible appearance. His strength was beyond anything we had faced before. He was closing in on us, unleashing fear and chaos around him. It was obvious that he was the strongest of all the demons we faced.

We felt his presence, which caused excitement and anxiety in our hearts. The black fire surrounding him increased his power and the danger he posed. We understood that this is an opponent that we need to face without fear or doubt. The demon moved, changing its form and entertaining us with its terrifying transformations. He inspired even more fear, but inwardly we refused to share our fears with him. We were ready to fight to the last breath, regardless of his extreme strength.

Our struggle with him was tough and stubborn. We used every possible weapon, every technique and skill to protect ourselves and each other. Adrian, despite his lack of weapons, attacked him relentlessly, trying to find weaknesses. But our opponent was unpredictable, always ready for a counterattack. We fought desperately, but at times it appeared that our blows had almost no effect on him. It was a no-win battle against a force that seemed limitless. But we did not lose our will and continued to fight, because we knew that it was our duty.

Time stood on the edge, every second seemed like an eternity as we continued our fight against this monstrous demon. We felt worn out and tired, but we did not allow ourselves to lose heart. The battle continued, but our will remained steadfast. But how long can we last? Our strength gradually wore down, and the demon remained invincible. It was a test of our endurance, our faith and our strength.

-Mortals kneel before me, great and terrible... - he said and moved towards us.
