Christine's hurried steps echoed through the dimly lit corridor, her servant uniform swishing with each purposeful stride. The Rose Palace, with its grandeur, surrounded her as she navigated the opulent hallways. Strands of dark brown hair escaped the confines of her simple headpiece, softening the stern lines of her face.
She stopped in front of a door, taking a brief pause. With a deep breath, she tried to calm her frustration.
"Relax, Christine." A soft whisper, her fingers lingering on the door handle.
However, as she stood there, a hushed conversation from behind another door caught her attention. The voices were muffled, but the words seeped through the cracks.
One voice, male and authoritative, resonated through the heavy door. "There's an undelivered tray. Who was assigned to it?"
Another, dismissive and nonchalant, cut through the air. "Don't worry about it. It's for the captive princess."
