Liliana stared blankly at her father. "So, he was going to get engaged?" she thought, lowering her head. "He... he should have just given that damn rose to cousin Elizabeth."
"The Crown Prince of Ásjáheimr, huh?" Margaret murmured. "I didn't know there were talks about an engagement."
Emperor Thornton titled his head, glancing at the paper on his hand. "It has been in discussion for diplomatic reasons. A union between our empires will strengthen ties and ensure stability in the region," he replied. "He intends to depart tomorrow and then revisit Sylvania in four months to make the proposal."
"What?" Margaret exclaimed, rising from her seat. "He came to Sylvania, and no one bothered to inform me?"
The Emperor glanced at his daughter. "Sit down, Margaret," he said firmly.
Margaret, however, simply glared at him.
