The Emperor sat in his chambers, bathed in the gentle moonlight filtering through the window. He was clad in his sleeping robes, a symbol of his authority even in the quiet of the night.
"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty. The Grand Commander seemed to be in a hurry," a voice spoke from behind the wall.
The Emperor turned his attention to the voice, his brow furrowing slightly. "Hmm," he murmured thoughtfully. "Are their walls thick?"
"Pardon?" the voice asked.
"It will be a problem if the delegates will hear," the Emperor explained.
The voice paused for a moment before responding. "Their conversation? I do not think so, Your Imperial Majesty," it replied. "There are no one in the adjacent rooms and the walls should be thick enough."
The Emperor shook his head slightly, his expression thoughtful. "Not the damn conversation," he muttered under his breath.
