As they made their way through the dark and narrow pathway of the dungeon, the flickering light from torches mounted on the walls cast dancing shadows that seemed to elongate and twist with each step. The air was heavy with the scent of damp stone and mildew, and the sound of their footsteps echoed eerily against the cold, unforgiving walls.

"Dame Christine, I am disappointed that you doubted the Grand Commander," Hector's voice echoed through the dimly lit corridor as they walked.

Christine walked beside him, her chin held high and her hands clasped in front of her as she maintained her composure.

"I apologize, Lieutenant. But didn't you also rush down?" Christine replied calmly, her voice cutting through the silence of the dungeon.

Hector chuckled nervously, attempting to deflect the conversation. "I never doubt the Grand Commander. I rushed down to stop you, of course," he said.
