Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The warlord

Jake Carter felt a mix of fear and anger as he saw Zane's face on the screen. He saw that Zane was a man in his fifties, with short blond hair and cold blue eyes, wearing a black suit and a red tie. He saw that Zane was smiling wickedly and speaking mockingly.

He saw that Zane was his uncle and his enemy.

He saw that Zane was the warlord and the usurper of Atlantis.

He heard Zane's voice in his ear.

"Hello, Jake. Long time no see. How are you enjoying your little vacation in Atlantis?" Zane asked.

Jake clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.

"Zane, you bastard. What are you doing here? What do you want?" Jake asked.

Zane laughed and shrugged.

"What am I doing here? What do I want? Isn't it obvious, Jake? I'm here to take what is rightfully mine. I'm here to claim the throne of Atlantis. I'm here to rule both worlds," Zane said.

Jake shook his head and glared.

"You're insane, Zane. You're delusional. You have no right to the throne of Atlantis. You have no right to rule anything. You're nothing but a traitor and a murderer," Jake said.

Zane frowned and sneered.

"Oh, please, Jake. Spare me your moral lectures. You're in no position to judge me. You're nothing but a pawn and a fool. You're nothing but a tool for your father and your king," Zane said.

Jake felt a surge of pain and rage.

"My father and my king are better men than you will ever be, Zane. They are noble and wise. They are brave and loyal. They are my heroes and my mentors," Jake said.

Zane scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"Your father and your king are weak and foolish. They are naive and blind. They are cowards and liars. They are your enemies and your doom," Zane said.

Jake felt a burst of confusion and doubt.

"What do you mean, Zane? What are you talking about?" Jake asked.

Zane smiled and leaned closer to the screen.

"I mean, Jake, that your father and your king have been lying to you all your life. I mean, Jake, that your father and your king have been using you for their own agenda. I mean, Jake, that your father and your king have been planning to destroy you from the start," Zane said.

Jake felt a shock of disbelief and denial.

"That's not true, Zane. That's impossible. That's a lie," Jake said.

Zane shook his head and sighed.

"That's the truth, Jake. That's inevitable. That's a fact," Zane said.

He pressed a button on his console and changed the image on the screen.

He showed Jake a video of his father, James Carter, talking to King Orion in a secret chamber in Atlantis.

He showed Jake how his father revealed his true identity as an Atlantean spy who had infiltrated Earth to gather information and resources for Atlantis.

He showed Jake how his father confessed his true mission as an Atlantean assassin who had been sent to kill him as soon as he activated his Atlantean powers and abilities.

He showed Jake how his father admitted his true motive as an Atlantean fanatic who had been loyal to King Orion's vision of restoring Atlantis to its former glory by destroying Earth and its civilization.

He showed Jake how his father apologized for his deception and betrayal, but also justified his actions as necessary and noble for the greater good of Atlantis.

He showed Jake how King Orion praised his father for his service and sacrifice, but also ordered him to complete his task and kill him without hesitation or remorse.

He showed Jake how his father nodded in agreement and raised his hand to unleash a blast of energy at him.

He showed Jake how he intervened at the last moment and saved him from certain death by shooting his father with a laser gun from behind.

He showed Jake how he killed his father in front of him with a smile on his face.

He showed Jake how he saved his life with a twist of fate.

He paused the video and looked at Jake's reaction.

He saw that Jake was stunned and speechless, watching the video with horror and disbelief.

He saw that Jake was hurt and betrayed, feeling the pain of losing his father twice: once when he disappeared, once when he died.

He saw that Jake was angry and confused, questioning the truth of everything he had ever known or believed in.

He saw that Jake was vulnerable and broken, ready to be manipulated or destroyed by him.

He smiled wickedly and spoke mockingly:

"Surprised, Jake? Shocked? Devastated? I bet you are. I bet you didn't see this coming. I bet you didn't expect this twist. I bet you didn't know this secret," Zane said.

He pressed another button on his console and changed the image on the screen again.

He showed Jake a video of himself, Zane Carter, talking to a group of people in a secret base on Earth.

He showed Jake how he revealed his true identity as an Earthling spy who had infiltrated Atlantis to gather information and resources for Earth.

He showed Jake how he confessed his true mission as an Earthling rebel who had been sent to overthrow King Orion and his regime as soon as he activated the portal and opened the way to Earth.

He showed Jake how he admitted his true motive as an Earthling patriot who had been loyal to Earth's vision of defending its freedom and sovereignty by destroying Atlantis and its civilization.

He showed Jake how he apologized for his deception and betrayal, but also justified his actions as necessary and noble for the greater good of Earth.

He showed Jake how the group of people praised him for his service and sacrifice, but also ordered him to complete his task and kill King Orion without hesitation or remorse.

He showed Jake how he nodded in agreement and raised his hand to unleash a blast of energy at the portal.

He showed Jake how he activated the portal and opened the way to Earth with a smile on his face.

He showed Jake how he launched a massive surprise attack on both worlds with a twist of fate.

He paused the video and looked at Jake's reaction again.

He saw that Jake was stunned and speechless, watching the video with horror and disbelief.

He saw that Jake was hurt and betrayed, feeling the pain of losing his uncle twice: once when he left him, once when he attacked him.
