Gilbert Thompson and his group had just left when Director Green called.
"Peter, did you agree to a collaboration with Gilbert Thompson and his associates?"
Director Green sure was well-informed!
Peter Brown didn't avoid the topic, replying, "Indeed, they were very sincere. A villa, an annual salary of a million dollars, a 28% split when treating patients—I take 80%, one day of treatment per week, no more than twenty patients in a day. There was no reason for me not to agree."
Director Green originally wanted to say more, but upon hearing this, he held back his words. Truthfully, nobody would refuse such conditions, especially someone like Peter Brown, who had no money.
"What about our hospital?" Director Green still asked.
"Didn't we agree? I'll also sit for consultations one day a week at the hospital. But let's control the number of patients, no more than thirty."
