Watching Mr. Collins leave with his men, Maurren felt angrier and quickly made several calls on her cell phone.
After the calls, Maurren looked nervously at Peter and said, "Peter, I didn't take care of Clara properly." For some reason, she was now most concerned about Peter's attitude towards her.
Peter smiled and said, "You have a lot on your plate, and besides, this has been going on for a few days. Clara never told you, so you didn't know. Don't blame yourself. Come on, let's eat."
At this point, Peter turned to his sister and said, "You need to toughen up too. Weak people are easy targets!"
Clara said, "Isn't this just an accident? It's not a big deal."
"Peter, how is this going to be resolved? Will they retaliate against us?" Aris asked worriedly. She was clever and even though she had just stood up for Clara, she worried about possible revenge.
Maurren snorted and said, "They won't have the chance!"
Peter laughed, "You made those calls just now because of this?"
