Even with the deployment of high-powered harmony bombs, it's estimated that at least a dozen would be needed to clear them out, and that's only if the enemies' resilience to such bombs isn't particularly strong. It's known that the actual blast radius of the harmony bomb itself isn't that large; the bomb's formidable lethality comes from various radiative S-type damage.
However, the S-type radiative damage has its limits. At least for the Insect Species, if they are not at the very center of a harmony bomb, they can withstand the thermal radiation, but the nuclear radiation at the periphery can be utterly ignored by them—there are many forms of radiation in the universe far stronger than nuclear radiation.
