When Finn returned to Celeston City, he did not immediately call his misguided fellows. Although he did not make any calls, he was nonetheless moved— he knew their silence was out of consideration for him. Fishy had made it clear—many people were getting close to them solely to get to Finn. During their time in college, Finn and the rest of them were very close, like brothers.
Those who couldn't establish contact, or couldn't ingratiate themselves with Finn, had taken an underhanded approach. Yet these guys didn't initiate contact with Finn to prevent such people from succeeding.
If we're talking about common people, they would have flocked to Finn a long time ago. At this age, there are quite a few people who would call Finn just to impress others. There's no shortage of such people—Finn has received many such calls, mostly from classmates he was not very close to but who somehow had his number.
