As they took pictures, Anton kept blinking trying to fanthom what had just happened.
As soon as the bride and her parents were asked to take a portrait, Anton pulled his parents aside.
After they were finally somewhere alone, the interrogation began.
"Would you care to explain or what?"
He asked arrogantly and in an angry manner.
" We knew you would never agree hunie, we did this for you. In the future, you'll be grateful" His mother, Mrs Wilson tried to convince him.
"What future?" he screamed, "who said I'm going to wait till then!"
"Now calm down Son, you don't want us to start paying paparazzi again, do you?" His father said.
"You seem to care about paparazzi more than your own child" he replied as he panted and pinched his temple.
"See, it's only a matter of time before you own the business world, it'll be much easier to monopolize the market and I kid you not, you'll be the king and no one will be able to look down on you, all you ever wanted will finally be yours" Mrs Wilson said.
"All I ever wanted? All I wanted? This is what you want, this is your dream not mine so don't even try to brainwash me into thinking this is what I want. You made me marry someone that I don't even know, I've never met before, I don't even know my wife's name and you're telling me this is what I want and I'll be thanking you for it in the future? You...." Anton's words were interupted by a loud clashing sound.
The Wilsons family stopped to look at the intruder. It was the bride who had brought some after party wine for her in-laws and 'husband'.
She had overheard Anton's words saying that he didn't even know her name.
She was beyond shocked.
She thought it was him who had asked for the marriage but she was wrong.
When he kissed her on her nose she had hoped he didn't want to force her since she probably doesn't know him yet and he wanted her to fall naturally in love with him.
Him not even liking her or not knowing her was totally out of the question.
As always her overthinking had come to add salt to a healing wound.
The bewildered Wilson family stared at her.
The next thing that happened made Tamim rethink her life decisions.
Anton started walking towards her as he said "Let's go, Wife" and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her towards the elevator which led to an underground car park.
He was still holding her arm in the elevator.
She grabbed her arm away from his grip as she used her other hand to rub where his hand had been. The puffy arms of Tamim's dress was quite short and didn't reach her elbow so the pink mark his tight grip caused was visible.
He stared at it and ignored it.
He brought out an handkerchief and gave to her to wipe herself as some wine had spilled on her when the glasses broke but she refused it still angry at him.
They got to the underground carpark and brought out his phone, some words were exchanged but Tamim didn't pay attention she was brooding, sad and broken.
'He gave me hope and took it back without waiting for me to get accustomed to it. Wicked humans' Tamim thought.
Tamim's thoughts was interupted by a speeding sports car in black.
The car stopped in front of them and the driver came down. He gave Anton the keys and bowed, Anton opens the passenger seat and saying,
"Wife, hop in"
