Chapter 1 - Tamim

The church's morning bell rings 6 times.

It's my cue to get out of bed.

I slowly rub my eyes and reach for my glasses on the nightstand. Giving a big yawn, I sat up, raised the duvet and slid out of bed. I then wore my fluffy slippers and got on my knees afterwards to pray with my hands on the bed.

Ten minutes later I was done.

My prayer?

'Lord, help me to be perfect again today. Don't let them see through me'...

Where are my manners?

Hi, my name is Tamim can also be spelt as Tahmeem.

Weird name right?

My name is of Hebrew origin and it means 'perfection' and purity' mostly the subject of concentration here is 'perfection'. When my parents first had me they fell deeply in love with me and were convinced that I was the perfect child so they decided to name me that.

The priests that were to name me and baptize me had refused bluntly because only God can be perfect not a mere human.

But my parents you see, once they set their heart on something they never back down. They went ahead to back their claims with a bible verse.

To be honest, this bible verse is the reason why I was born and perhaps why I live. It must have been a blessing to my parents when they figured that out but to me, it seems to be a curse...

In the end, the priests had no choice but to name me Tamim and according to my parents I am Tamim (perfect).

I'll be seventeen soon and as I inch closer towards eighteen, I'm glad that I'll be free from this perfection madness but who knew?

Who knew destiny had other plans.....?

Anyways, Let's wake up from this daydream shall we?

Your POV

Tamim is a young half Asian half British girl. She is sixteen and she seems to lay emphasis that she'll be seventeen soon, by next month to be precise.

She had the body of a goddess and perhaps that's why her name seems to stick to everyone who come across her. Her beautiful long slender legs which moderately contribute to her height, her hourglass shape which seems to announce itself no matter how baggy her clothes were.

Her face was the epitome of beauty itself. Her double lid eyes and her blue cornea that reminded everyone that she's indeed a halfcast, her slim nose and cute small lips which made her look like she was brought out of an anime. Her oval face and slim chin which made her look innocent and petite, not to mention her incredible hairy body making her eyelashes long and eyebrows bushy that she had to shape it three times a month. Her hair was long and lustrous always covering her goddesslike face which made her parents agree to cut it to face length.

They never asked her if she wanted that. They've never asked how she felt about the decisions that concerned her and that's how she felt her whole life.

Tamim's skin was white and glowy and we could say kudos to the expensive and rare products she uses to remain white as a ghost. She was the brilliant student that never came in second, she was perfect in school and even though some refused to agree about a human being perfect they couldn't help but believe because she was faultless.

But perfection is not only in the appearance or the resources a person owns...

Tamim's father owned a huge technology company for skincare, food, and gaming gadgets. His company ranked the No 5 in the business world so we could say they were well to do. Her mother was also a manager in one of the three branches situated in the middle of the country, south Korea. That was where they lived and worked.

Their mansion and cars were one thing to marvel about and a governor might feel intimidated from the aura their abode emitted.

Thus, they won the front page of daily times magazine 5 times In a row for being the perfect model family of the state, overall their slate was clean and they were too perfect.

This is the life her parents wanted, a perfect life that many envied.

A perfect life that's only pleasing to the society but toxic to the people that live it.

Well someone did say that,

'Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" - Matthew 5:48.

That was the bible verse they used to change the priests' countenance....
