Chapter 1 - Chapter 001- Prologue

Delivering a conclusive glimpse at herself in the mirror, Elvira finally nailed her choice of apparel, which was suitable for her pursuit. The mansion was exhaustively lit, but the gloom in the sky made it impossible to think it was daylight.

It's five or so minutes past eleven in the night.

That night, her mission was simple; Seduce the cold-blooded butler.

She ought a reaction from him, anything other than the cold blank stares he gave everybody, and herself. A smile would be appreciated, and hell, a lustful glance would be worshiped.

Her mother had informed her men like confident women, and that's what she's doing now. Being confident. She just hoped she wasn't assuming the whole confident idea wrongly.

Her head shoved halfway out the window and her eyes scrutinized the compound. It was silent. All the people in the mansion were already asleep, a few others weren't though, but she knew for sure no one was stepping out of their room.

Her see-through ash gown drove her pale skin paler, and her brown water-wave hair was retained in a ponytail. Her collar bones are on display, she learned from her friends that men find it attractive.

Her pale cheeks gave a rose glow from blushing as she gazed at herself in the mirror. The only underwear underneath the dress was her panties, and the thought of it made her blush.

This was her third attempt to seduce him. Or fourth if the one where he didn't even spare a glance was added.

Her feet boycotted toward the door before her mind could comprehend it. Her fingers enfolded the handle, and a deep breath was released at the same time as the handle was pushed. She was nervous.

Very anxious.

Her fiance entered the country days ago and now he's in the mansion. She wouldn't want to be caught by him.

She shut the door unhurriedly and quietly behind her. The hallway came into view, but she had earlier instructed the maid on duty to dim the lights. Her arms went down to pick up her shoes.

It didn't take long for her to walk out of the hallway and into the servants' quarters, she tiptoed towards the end of the quarter and stood in front of a door. A final glance was thrown down her dress and she opened the door breathing deeply. She didn't want to knock, the noise may attract the attention of the other servants, which would be risky.

She lingered upon entering the dark room, she waited for a deep cold voice to send her out, or anything. But all she got was quietness. Something wasn't right. Her hands moved to the switch on the wall and turned on the light.

Empty.

No one was in the room.

She sighed. It wasn't strange. She'd seen him giving himself a tour of the mansion a couple of times, while sometimes he was inspecting the locks on the window or something.

Noticing another failed evening, she wouldn't call it a thorough failure since he wasn't here, but failed nevertheless. She switched the light off and proceeded to open the door.

She decided to walk through the back building which seemed abandoned, it was safer that way to enter her room.

As she walked further towards the building, she heard a slamming sound. It wasn't loud, barely audible, but sounded harsh enough to know it wasn't some cricket or frog hopping.

Her inquisitiveness pushed her forward towards the low clangor, something told her she shouldn't be here, she was having a weird feeling. But that didn't stop her. Her bare feet soundlessly touched the ground as she walked to the blind spot of the building.

Before she could take another step, something caught her attention from the hub of her eyes. She pivoted her head in the direction, and stood still.

Stunned.

Her heart jumped as the shovel landed on the tied man's head.

Elvira stared underneath the gloaming sky in horror as her butler whacked the half-dead man's face with a shovel. He sought to kill since he didn't stop thumping till a creek of blood crawled into the big pit that seemed dug to conceal the body.

She stood there, too shocked to breathe.

He hadn't noticed her presence, a prominent opportunity for her to run- or crawl if her limbs wobbled. She knew he wasn't normal, she knew he was dangerous, she knew she should have reported to her parents to get him sacked…

Her eyes trailed subconsciously at the lifeless body, and she recognized it immediately…

Her fiance.

She gasps audibly in terror, which seems to be a nasty stir since she witnessed the shovel stopping halfway. Head turned in her trail, his eyes, she realized his eyes and expression held nothing but its usual stance.

No remorse or enjoyment for his actions. Nothing.

After a couple seconds, she saw something…

Rage.

Madness and rage. But was instantly concealed.

With the shovel still tightly under his clutches, he walked emotionlessly towards her.

Her wobbling limbs drove their way towards the mansion with haste, but she knew she wouldn't be able to escape, she couldn't outrun him. She couldn't re….

Her pair of cold fingers caught her, and the next minute she was scoped upon a shoulder she knew too well. She tried to scream, but a piece of fabric found its way inside. Her eyes broadened as she realized where he was taking her.

Was… was he planning to kill her too?!!
