Aurora finished cleaning Mary's wound and reached for a bandaid. Carefully applying it by Mary's lip, she ensured it was secure. "There," she said with a smile. "Now you are all patched up." Her gaze shifted, noticing the swollen cheek on Mary's face.
Aurora's smile faded as she gently touched the area around Mary's cheek. "The swelling should reduce in a few days," she reassured, standing up. "I have to get going; Azrael must be waiting for me," or he was probably around the corner, the thought causing her to shake her head.
Mary's furrowed expression caught Aurora's attention, and Mary asked, "Azrael? You mean your friend from the other day?"
"Ah…" Aurora hesitated. She knew she shouldn't be telling Mary much about Azrael. "Yes, him. We made plans to meet by the river," she replied, keeping her explanation simple.
Mary's expression turned thoughtful, and she asked, "What's your relationship with Azrael? "
