Aurora, feeling embarrassed, couldn't bring herself to get down as her leg was still throbbing with pain. She shifted uncomfortably in Azrael's arms, trying to maintain some semblance of composure.
Meanwhile, Azrael effortlessly navigated the path. Rather than taking a turn to Mary's cottage, he walked straight ahead, stopping in front of a riverbank. Then, he gently set Aurora down by a large flat rock.
"Wait here," Azrael said and took a step in the other direction.
Aurora quickly took his hand to stop him as he started to step away. Their eyes met briefly, and Azrael's gaze shifted to her hand on his hand, then back to her face. Realizing the awkwardness of the situation, she quickly withdrew her hand, feeling embarrassed by her actions. "Sorry," she muttered, averting her gaze.
"Where are you going?" she added.
