"I'm fine, Mother," she replied with a gentle smile, trying to mask the anxiety bubbling within her. "I am just tired."
Eleanor's eyes studied her daughter for a moment. "Tired? You've been acting a bit strange since you came back. Are you sure everything is okay?"
Aurora nodded. "Yes, just a bit sleepy. I think I need a good night's rest."
"Alright," Eleanor said, although she still seemed somewhat doubtful. "Well then, dear, don't let us keep you up. Get some rest, and we will catch up in the morning."
With a nod, Aurora excused herself from the table, clearing off the dishes before leaving her parents to finish their meal. Walking to her bedroom door, she paused. A sudden thought crossed her mind. Could she really hide the truth from her parents for long? What would happen if they found out about Azrael? Could she bear to lie to them?
