As the kiss finally ended, they rested their foreheads together, their breath mingling. They sat for a moment, still enjoying each other's presence, and then Aurora spoke up.
"I should get your wounds cleaned up," she said. With that, he released her from their embrace, and she walked out of the room, holding a candle to navigate the space. After a few minutes, she returned, carrying a small bag filled with things to clean his wounds. She once again sat beside him and looked at him, subtly indicating for him to take off his clothes for the process.
However, he hesitated and expressed, "My body hurts, and I wouldn't be able to do it myself." His words carried a sense of vulnerability, and Aurora couldn't tell if he was being honest with her or was just merely in pain.
