What?" She questioned softly.
"I have a wife" He replied, letting go of her shoulders and walking back to his seat. "So I can't have you carrying my baby," he said, taking a seat.
"Trey..." She wiped her tears.
"It's not up for discussing, you're getting rid of it" He fired without sparing her a glance. He picked up his pen, ready to carry on with what he was doing before she came in. "Get yourself prepared, you're going to the hospital tomorrow," he said.
She then stepped out of his office.
She had not just fallen for him, she had imagined her entire life with him and he was married. His wife was on a trip and she was going to be back that weekend. She hated herself for being so weak and giving herself to him every time he wanted. She felt stupid.
Now she had to get rid of her first baby because she had been opening her legs for a man who already had a wife. He was building a life, she had no future with him.
She spent the rest of the day zoning out and wondering how things turned out like that. Her life had taken such a drastic turn and she wished she had never met Trey.
The next day came quickly and for the first time in weeks, Montana didn't feel like going to work. She eventually did but she was thirty minutes late.
"You're late," Trey told her immediately after she stepped into her office. He was waiting at her desk.
Montana was startled seeing him in her office so she jumped a little. "I'm sorry" she apologized, closing her door behind her.
"Step into my office," he said, leaning off her desk and walking towards his door. He pushed it open and stepped in while Montana reluctantly followed behind him. He went straight to his desk and she just stood at the door. "So I spoke to my doctor..." He began, turning back to face her. His eyebrows pulled together seeing her standing by the door. "Have a sit" he said, pointing to one of the chairs opposite his desk.
Montana shuffled her way towards him and took her seat, not looking him in the eye for a second.
"There's no need for you to get a surgical abortion since you're less than ten weeks pregnant," He said, pulling out a drawer. He picked out a bottle of water and a small bottle of pills and then set them down in front of her.
Montana looked down at the pills and then up at him. There was no doubt in her mind, she couldn't take the pills and she wasn't going to.
"Trey..." She called, tears filling her eyes.
"Yes?"
"Please don't make me do this" She begged, looking down at the ground. She couldn't look him in the eye.
"Montana..."
"I can't take those pills," she said, getting up from her seat. "I don't want to do this, I'm really scared Trey" She cried. "I know having a baby is scary but an abortion sounds a lot scarier, please don't make me do this"
"You'll have to take the pill," he said flatly. He didn't seem the least bit moved by her tears.
"Trey..."
"Montana you can't carry my baby" He cut her short. "Please understand that" he added.
"Nobody has to know it's your baby" She replied. "I'll figure something out I promise," she said.
It took a while for her to convince him not to make her take the pills. Montana just had a strong feeling she was going to regret aborting her first baby, she didn't want to do it.
He finally agreed to let her keep the baby because nobody would know it was his, she had promised to figure something out.
She had no idea what she was going to do. It was only a matter of time before she wouldn't be able to hide her pregnancy. She didn't know what she was going to tell her stepmom. She spent the entire day trying to think of something but she didn't get any ideas.
At the end of working hours, she stepped into Trey's office to tell him she was leaving.
"Wait" he stopped her before she could reach for the door handle to leave. He got up from his seat and walked around to lean on the front of his desk. "So what have you decided?" He asked.
"I haven't thought of anything but I promise I'll figure it out" She replied, not budging from her spot by the door.
"Are you scared?" He asked and she nodded. He sighed and a short silence settled between them. "Come here" he finally spoke up.
She slowly shuffled her way toward him, avoiding his gaze at all costs. She finally got to him and he leaned off his desk, closing the little gap she had left between them.
He placed his hand on the side of her face and slightly tilted her head up to face him. "I want you to know that whatever you decide, I'm going to take care of you..." He began. "... and our baby" he added.
Tears filled her eyes but before she could say anything, he softly pressed his lips against hers. It was different from all the other times they had kissed. He was gentle and passionate.
Interrupting them was a sudden knock at the door. They immediately broke apart and stared at the door in confusion. They both had no idea who it could be.
"Come in" Trey called out.
The door almost immediately swung open and sh
e stepped in. Cassandra.
Or how she loved to be called, Mrs Galloway.
