"Lately, I've been having vivid dreams about my own novel story... Is it that desirable? or is it just because of my way of imagining scenarios?"
These thoughts coursed through a writer known as "Indigo," a man who loves to write a Fantasy/Adventure stories.
One night, Indigo sought comfort on his balcony, gazing at the starry sky that emits a calming beauty.
A gentle breeze brushed against him, carrying a refreshing sensation, his eyes fixated on a meteor blazing across the sky.
Captivated by the sight, a whispered thought escaped his lips, "If only I could live the whole story I will..." *sigh* He sighed and left his words behind.
"As if that would ever happen, it's just a fiction I've created," he said with a realization as he entered his room to continue writing his story.
As Indigo started working on the continuation of his Novel, imaginations flowed through his mind, simulating the paths that his story could take. Indigo spent his whole night drafting and editing until the sun had risen and the birds started singing.
Tiredness etched onto Indigo's face, as he decided to rest, he dropped himself on his bed.
The soft and cold cushion slowly succumbing him to a comfortable and relaxing sleep that slowly clears his mind. But as he fell asleep, a strange light emitted around him unknowingly.
Inaudible voices. Loud and sudden explosion from a distance. Intense shaking and crumbling of the ground and ceiling is slowly waking him up.
It had been some time since he fallen asleep, only to be awakened by an intense throbbing pain on his body while lying on the ground, caused by an intense and sudden shaking.
Indigo opened his eyes just to find himself in a huge dark cave, surrounded by tall walls and pillars and many passages. As he tries to make sense of what is happening, his attention was suddenly drawn by a loud, desperate shout from a distance, "Wake up! Anyone!"
Confused, as Indigo got up from the ground, he immediately groaned in pain. His abdomen is slightly damaged but it seems the bleeding had stopped.
He once again inspected his surrounding, and from a distance, he saw a dim figure of a gigantic monster, wielding what looks like a huge mace.
The ground shook again as it attacked something, the impact was strong enough that it reverberated several distance away from him.
As Indigo was shocked by the sight, he heard a sudden call from behind, "You-" the words were interrupted by a sudden cough. It is the same voice of the man that shouted earlier.
The man is lying on chest with his elbow supporting him up at the ground, injured and seemingly unable to move anymore.
"A Mage?"
Indigo approached the injured mage, but as he is about to ask a question his words were immediately shut.
"Indigo..." the mage he spoke, breathing heavily.
"I cannot move anymore, and my mana is almost exhausted..." he paused with his face etched with pain.
"Will you take atleast one survivor with you?" the mage asked.
"I'll see what i can do," Indigo replied as he applied pressure to his abdomen.
"... I'll cast my final magic when the time comes," the mage looked away as he relayed those words.
"That huge Monster... I'll need to be careful," Indigo thought to himself before moving.
Indigo roamed, breathing heavily as he holds the side of his stomach in pain while observing his surroundings for any survivors.
On his way, he felt nauseated as he found many humans that are mutilated and crushed
"... this scenario-" he muttered as a sense of familiarity struck him.
However, something immediately caught his attention, he spotted an unconscious young woman, stuck on a pillar, she seemed to be sent flying by certain attack.
Indigo quickly dashed towards the young woman despite the pain, he thrust his hands forward reaching for her, hoping to wake her up and escape.
However, he suddenly felt an intense and ominous presence looming behind him. As he turned to look, he noticed that the monstrous creature is already next to him.
The giant monster and its weapon created an eerie silhouette as it swung the colossal mace. Indigo's face is apparent with fear. The time seemed to flow slow as the mace gradually closed towards him.
As the unavoidable attack reached him, impact reverberated through his body that crushed his bones and body, sending him flying to the other side.
"I... can't feel my upper body," he thought, devoid of any emotion.
Indigo's pain all over his body is numbing, he started to slowly lose his consciousness, his face covered in blood, unrecognizable.
Unable to move, lying on the ground filled with blood. He noticed that the mage had started to cast his magic.
"I have failed him, huh?" he thought as his hearing is slowly decaying, the sight slowly fading, and his pain was numbing.
"What will happen now?" he asked himself as he helplessly watched the mage from a distance.
He noticed a strange light emanating from the mage, and the atmosphere around the demon started to shift
The air is being pulled by a force, strong enough to get the attention of the monster. The monster struggled against the force. Unable to move past it, the monster attempted to strike the mage with its mace.
However, as it hurls the mace forward, the mage from the distance finished casting, he then shouted: "IMPLOSION!"
The strange light around the mage brightened, as the force strengthened, the mace that was hurled forward is pulled by the force back to the monster, damaging itself.
Indigo, bleeding, forcing his eyes open as his consciousness is gradually fading away. He watched the monster being slowly crushed whilst the mage's body began to rupture. The cave began to collapse.
Everything went black, Indigo's consciousness finally slipped away.
Few moments later, Indigo's senses is slowly returning due to noise.
*ring ring ring*
"Huh?... Ring?... Is it my phone? Oh, I was dreaming again, right..." he pondered as he woke up.
Indigo proceeded with his regular routine as he recounted his dream. Indigo opened his windows and a gentle breeze and the singing of birds greeted him.
"Just how long did I sleep..."
He wondered as he started stretching while watching the view through his window, a peaceful road with green scenery and calming atmosphere.
"That cave... it seemed like a dungeon."
He stared on his face as he brushed his teeth.
"The mage called me Indigo, huh..."
"His body also broke apart... its the same as [Mana Explosion] in my novel"
*Whistling sound*
Indigo washed his face before returning as he heard his kettle from the kitchen boiling.
"Now that I think about it, the monster looked like a Demon."
With these thoughts, he started eating before returning to write his novel again.
As Indigo sat on his chair, checking his novel he noticed something different. The page that is supposedly empty, is filled with detailed passage. As he continued to read the passage, he realized that it is exactly the same as his dream.
"Wait..."
A sense of familiarity hit him once again. Indigo searched his previous novel to confirm his doubts.
*Click click*
"This..."
Indigo reads his previous novel that had similarities to his dream.
"A Colossal Demon, Welding a Huge Mace... In a Dungeon of Fhiljier."
"A Dungeon with the tallest interior..."
His face filled with excitement, he tried to recall as much detail as he could.
"No wonder it felt familiar. That Dream was based on my previous novel too, huh."
"That Dungeon was cleared but at the same time, none of the A rank Adventurer's party returned."
"It seems like my dream was about that annihilation-"
Indigo realizes that he got too excited over that vivid and realistic dream he had and remembered that he needs to do something.
"Though, I don't really remember writing this passage..?,"
He said before he noticed that at the end of the passage is an abrupt ending with the word, "END."
Confusion is piling up to him as he try to recall if he wrote this last night. "No, that novel is already finished..." he thought while he erased the passage
Indigo slowly erased the passage, and it neared the ending, as he removed the last passage and the word, "END," suddenly, everything went black.
When he come to his senses, he found himself once again lying in the same dungeon, with the same scenario, hearing the same mage shouting desperately.
"Is this... really a dream?" he asked himself while he felt the shaking and the crumbling of the cave.
