Boys growing up in modern society, many of them have once held this 'heroic dream' of wandering around carrying guns, occasionally stepping in to uphold justice.
Like the railroad guerrilla squad riding on plump date-red horses, climbing onto speeding trains barehanded; or an enemy behind-the-lines demolition squad inconspicuously infiltrating watchtowers with their old-fashioned explosive boxes; or the western cowboy, with a Winchester repeating rifle on his shoulder, a Colt revolver at his waist, driving hundreds, maybe thousands of fat cows, and fighting three hundred rounds with feather-hatted Indians in the wilderness, and so forth. Boys have always dreamed of such heroic feats, yearning for the day when they too might become heroes.
Zheng Qing was no exception.
