A palace lantern bobbed up and down, drifting in the air.
A few wild fireflies looking for food thought they had encountered a delicious meal. They foolishly clung to the silk cover of the lantern. Their sharp mouthparts pierced through the thin silk, and they pumped their bodies in vain, trying to suck on the dry air inside the lantern, or maybe a bit of evaporating wax.
A small teddy bear was hopping around on the smooth stone pavement, trying to climb up to the palace lantern not far overhead. Just a few minutes ago, its owner was so shocked that she inadvertently let go of it, allowing its furry paws to come into close contact with the ground.
Now, it wanted to reclaim its peak status as a bear by its own efforts.
But it was really too short.
Even if it tried its best to curl its body into a ball, it still couldn't bounce high enough.
Eventually, the teddy bear stopped hopping.
