Selena's POV
I twirl the ring in my hand, watching the uncles who take turns speaking with my father.
They have been teammates fighting side by side for the past few decades. I realize that their conversation is more than just simple pleasantries; they must have received some instructions from my father.
I asked a question. “Uncle Jack, perhaps you have some thoughts on this?”
Uncle Jack's expression changes, seemingly not expecting me to ask him directly.
“It seems you've grown a lot in the Black Valley pack.”
“Thank you for the compliment, but now I think you must already have an idea.”
Uncle Jack's gaze shifts to my father lying in the bed,
“You can decide on other matters, but there's one thing you can't interfere with.”
“What is it?” A sense of unease is already growing inside me.
“The mining of the Moonstone,” Uncle Jack stares into my eyes.
“Why!” I clench my fists tightly, trying hard not to vent my displeasure.
