Selena’s POV
That's what Stella said to me about the ring.
There is a switch on the ring. When you get close to the target, press the switch and the hallucinogenic gas will be released and gradually take effect in half an hour. This particular gas evokes the deepest fears of people, and even the bravest warrior loses his strength and falls into a delusion. But remember, you have to take care to protect yourself. Do not accidentally inhale it.
Before dinner, when Penelope approached me, I realized that was my chance. I held my breath, pressed the button on the ring, and released the gas.
Then I waited, and though I still smiled at all the guests, I didn't know what I was talking about. All I could feel was my heart beating and my thirst for revenge.
When dinner began, I had no appetite for the delicious food and wine I had prepared. Half an hour will soon pass.
"Three, two, one," I said to myself.
Sure enough, I heard a noise in Penelope's direction.
