Kayla's POV
In order to gain an advantage during the meeting, Amber brought along some warriors and drove me to the coffee shop on Greene Avenue in advance.
After surveying the surroundings, Amber concealed a small walkie-talkie in my clothes and then instructed me to stay vigilant.
"Relax, Amber."
When Amber insisted on reviewing the code again for the third time, I couldn't help but reach out and put my hand on her shoulder, interrupting her chatter.
"Have you forgotten? We've been using this code since we were thirteen. I won't forget these words no matter what."
"Okay."
Amber seemed to sense her own nervousness. She took a deep breath, muttered a few words under her breath, and finally released the tight grip on my hand.
"Remember—"
"...signal you immediately if there's a problem. I know."
I hugged Amber and raised my arm to wave at her. "Wait for my good news."
