Kayla's POV
After I assured Daisy multiple times that we would continue to live in The Dark Night Pack and stay by Harrison's side, Daisy finally showed a contented expression and went to sleep in her room.
Shortly after Daisy fell asleep, my phone rang – it was a call from Amber.
"Thank goodness, you finally remembered to call me," I quickly answered the call and playfully complained to Amber.
"I'm so sorry, Kayla. I got home very late, and then... uh, my baby was a bit restless in my belly, so I went to bed early that night. I just got a chance to call you and let you know I'm safe today."
Hearing Amber's voice with a hint of girlish shyness, I could probably guess what had happened between her and Peter last night.
Suppressing my laughter, I cleared my throat and didn't expose Amber's little lie. "That's good, as long as you get home safely. Did Peter say anything to you?"
