Kayla’s POV
"I've never understood why you're always so stubborn, Kayla."
Rebecca stood in front of me, looking down at me with superiority, as I remained imprisoned by iron chains.
"Last time at the Kelowna's party, you were the same way. Father and mother kindly provided you with an opportunity to marry a wealthy man, but you not only failed to appreciate it, you also pretended to be a victim and used that to seduce Harrison. You offended Kelowna, making The Obsidian Pack a laughingstock in our social circle! Do you know that because of your actions that night, I couldn't attend any social events for almost a week?"
Listening to Rebecca's hysterics, I couldn't help but find it laughable.
"Oh? So the biggest setback you've faced in your life is not being able to attend social events for a week?"
The sarcasm in my tone was quickly noticed by Rebecca.
She glared at me with malice and suddenly raised her hand, delivering a resounding slap to my cheek.
