A lot can happen in the dark. It doesn't matter if you are alone or not. The Dark is a beautiful and terrifying place. Part of the reason it's so terrifying is that though it can be scary and lonely, ... once you get used to it,...….. there is nothing more addictive, ...…..more majestic.
These thoughts swam in the mind of a young woman who stood on top of a skyscraper as she stared off into the endless, moonless night. She was peculiar, to say the least, whether it was the near jewel-like glowing amethyst eyes or the agelessly wise and strangely calm, emotionless, and almost deathly silent look in her eyes. Her hands were tucked into the pockets of her long, black trench coat. A thin copper chain with minor signs of rusting was in her right hand, her long fingers securely and tenderly entangling it in them. She moved her thumb gently along the thing chain, almost like caressing while staring off into oblivion.
With a sudden swift movement, her head jerked down now facing straight ahead. She put the copper chain inside her trench coat pocket safely. A lethal look brewed in her emotionless eyes like a storm before unleashing its wrath on the world. Her eyes with unreal concentration scanned her surroundings, while she lowered herself in a leaping stance, like a predator waiting for the right moment to throttle its prey.
In the next second, a speed of sound, jumped from the top of the skyscraper, leaving a noticeably large part of the roof in pieces like small meteorites had crashed into it. She leaped from one building to the next this time gracefully and without collateral damage and so caught up with her prey-
A huge ten feet ten-foot-tall muscular figure that was completely pitch black. It moved and leaped from building to building as well, although was not as thoughtful about the huge amount of money the owner of the buildings would have to pay to repair the damages. It moved at a speed unnatural for its size. It jumped and crashed its way into the woods with the women hot on its trail. It ran, destroying the flora in its path.
The woman caught up with a firm slap on the monster's side that sent in flying straight into a nearby rock, decimating both the monster and the rock. The monster's body disintegrated into black mist, slowly fading away with only a glowing fist-size golden shard whose glow was slowly dimming with a menacing black substance wrapping around the shard, corrupting it.
The woman slowly walks toward the site, bends down, and picks up the shard. She ran her thumb over it and with a brief glow in her eyes the black substance faded away and the shard shined brightly again.
She grips it tightly in her hand, contemplating something then suddenly struck with realization, her eyes grow slightly big, showing the first and slightest hint of emotion, and her eyebrows slightly tense, her grip tightens on the shard. The shard starts to crack under the pressure and she retracts the grip and her eyes change back to the calm and silent look.
She looks at the shard for a brief moment and a ring appears on her index finger.
The ring was magical, to say the least.
It had a golden frame and a huge glossy black stone in the middle. Inside the black stone was an enchanting, swirling vortex of time and space.
In a smooth and low and beautiful voice, she whispered "Azurion " and her eyes glowed once again for a brief moment.
The colors swirling around in the enchanting vortex glowed brighter for a brief second, the shard in her hand glowed with a gentle white light and then turned into white mist and got sucked into the ring.
The ring disappeared from her finger, turning into black mist and evaporating into thin air.
The young woman once again slipped her hand into her pocket and caressed the copper chain while she slowly lifted up her head and stared off into the abyss with a stressful expression which only seemed to be calmed by the cool, slightly rusted piece of copper rubbing against her skin.
