Chapter 706 - Princess Came For Visit!

Princess Came For Visit! . . .

"Get off! Every single one of you! Get off immediately!" Cha Eun Xiao erupted in anger. "How many times must I repeat myself? A teacup of this water can revive a single individual! How many men do you suppose require an entire vat of this water? It's inconceivable! Unbelievable! Get back to regular duties unless you want me to kick you out and cease providing you with anything! Go!"

The generals swiftly retreated, promising to adhere to his instructions.

"These individuals..." Cha Eun Xiao muttered irritably. "I only have a few vats of it, and they're trying to haul it all away. It's truly remarkable. I can't fathom how their heads could be filled with such nonsense..."

Song Jue chuckled. "Everyone yearns for more... Humph!"

Suddenly, he furrowed his brow. Cha Eun Xiao also sensed something amiss and, together, they turned their gazes skyward.

Their eyes were fixed on an elevated location.

Song Jue emitted a surge of murderous intent. "Audacious!"

He leaped up, preparing to rush outside.

"Wait!" A soft voice called out, "I mean you no harm."

A white figure materialized in the darkness.

Wenren Chuchu!

"Princess Lan-Feng?" Song Jue displayed a hint of delight. "You can search fruitlessly for something until your shoes wear out, but by some stroke of luck, you may stumble upon the very thing you weren't even seeking. Since you've come to us on your own, don't blame us for being merciless. It's the perfect opportunity to capture you and warm my nephew's bed!"

Cha Eun Xiao's forehead grew damp with sweat. He hadn't considered such a course of action at all, and even if he had, he would never dare to subject the girl to it. The consequences might involve the loss of certain body parts, as well as his head...

"Commander Cha, I'm here to talk," Wenren Chuchu looked at Cha Eun Xiao and spoke in a gentle tone. "May we?"

Song Jue hastily conveyed a discreet signal to Cha Eun Xiao through a wink. He didn't want Cha Eun Xiao to be left alone with the girl. [She's dangerous! You're not her match right now. Don't do anything foolish...]

Cha Eun Xiao gazed into Wenren Chuchu's eyes.

Wenren Chuchu met his gaze with a detached expression.

Deep within her eyes, a hint of tenderness and sorrow lingered.

Cha Eun Xiao sighed and shook his head. "Uncle Song, please go distribute this water to the men and patrol the walls. I need to converse with her for a while."

"Huh?" Song Jue was taken aback.

"It's fine," Cha Eun Xiao smiled. "We're acquainted."

Song Jue was astounded.

When Wenren Chuchu heard that, she nearly lost control of her tears. She clenched her teeth and trembled.

Song Jue was perceptive. He had been watching her, so he sensed something was amiss. He offered a knowing smile and said, "Very well. I have other matters to attend to. Be careful. We're in the midst of a war. She's the enemy."

With that, he departed. When he reached the door, he muttered to himself, "My nephew is quite impressive. A princess... He's actually entangled with a princess... Impressive. I'm in awe..."

Then he vanished.

The phrase "entangled with" caused Wenren Chuchu to blush. She contemplated explaining herself, but Song Jue had already departed, and there was no one to explain to. She felt embarrassed and simply huffed, "You reap what you sow!"

"Princess, please," Cha Eun Xiao extended his hand with a smile. "There's hardly a quiet place here, but shall we go to my tent?"

Under the circumstances of a battlefield, there was no true quiet place to be found. Even though he held the position of commander, he occupied a tent, albeit a larger one, where he both slept and conducted his affairs.

However, the choice of words used by Cha Eun Xiao appeared ambiguous, particularly after Song Jue had mentioned "hooking up." If he had simply mentioned "my tent" or "my office," it might have sounded less suggestive. Instead, he had referred to it as his "bedroom," even though all the terms denoted the same location.

The use of the term "bedroom" had caused Wenren Chuchu to blush, and she muttered, "Cheeky!"

Nonetheless, she was beneath someone else's roof and had come seeking a conversation. She understood that he was being somewhat flirtatious, but she had to bear with it.

Upon arriving at Cha Eun Xiao's "bedroom," she felt relieved.

It was nothing like the "bedroom" she had envisioned.

Most of the areas within Iron Peak had been transformed into defense structures due to the ongoing war. They had converted them into spaces for guarding and protecting. However, a few rooms were still intact. Cha Eun Xiao could have occupied one of them for himself, but instead, he had given them to wounded soldiers.

As soon as a soldier was healed, they were required to vacate the room and allow it to be utilized by others in need. Some soldiers with severe injuries had to occupy rooms for extended periods. Thanks to Cha Eun Xiao's magical water, there were enough rooms to accommodate all the injured soldiers.

Cha Eun Xiao's actions on behalf of the army had earned him great respect from the soldiers.

Naturally, a commander should have at least a tent.

His tent was roomy, with a wooden partition dividing it in half. One side served as his bedroom, while the other functioned as his office. It was simple but suitable for his needs.

"Please," Cha Eun Xiao smiled and gestured, "Princess, what can I do for you? You've come in the middle of the night."

Wenren Chuchu clenched her teeth as she gazed at Cha Eun Xiao, her expression growing complex. She spoke, "I need to clarify one thing. Should I address you as Feng Monarch or Commander Cha?"

Cha Eun Xiao remained composed. He chuckled and began speaking, "Princess, that's an interesting question. You see, these are just roles we must play in this world. Birds cast shadows as they fly overhead, while men should leave behind a legacy..."

"Stop!" Wenren Chuchu was at a loss for words. She cut him off before he could embark on a lengthy discourse. "The truth is right in front of my eyes. Don't deny it. I simply can't believe it. The Monarch of Ling-Bao Hall, a figure of great renown in history, turns out to be a playful young lord, the seemingly useless son of Cha Nantian, the renowned General Cha!"
