Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 Sanshimai no Kajitsu - The Game

The Rift.....

A special occuring that is happening in the Sanshimai no Kajitsu anime and game series.

The Rift is, as its name suggest, is a teared realm in the dimensional space that is opened when being(s) from another world is attempting to comes from their world to intrudes upon the current world that we live in.

And Yaezaki Clan is one of the many heroic clans around the world that specialized in dealing with the happening of the Rifts and exterminating any creatures that tries to invade this world by crossing the Rift.

Usually, in every place of a human civilization like in a village, a town and/or the city, there are always a clan or at least one or two family living there whose occupation is to deal with those otherworldly intruders that comes through the Rift.

When dealing with the otherworldly beings that are going through the Rift, people usually make a team of three to ten people that will wait at a place where a Rift is predicted to occur by the clan's shamans.

Why only three to ten people?

Because according to the plot, that is of course to maintain the secrecy of their movements and hide the existence of the Rift from the public eyes.

Then the first thing one should do after entering (or being sucked by) the Rift is to re-seal the entrance or spatial tears of the Rift that connects to our world so that no other beings can get out (and also get in) to prevent any of the otherworldly beings from entering our world through the Rift.

Then the team will battle all of the otherworldly creatures that are currently being in the Rift until they are all exterminated, or until the Rift themselves collapses and everyone who are currently staying on the Rift will be automatically sent back to their respective world(s).

In the game version, the battle is going on a tactical format like in the old school Fire Emblem and any other Japanese Tactic RPGs out there.

At the first level, we got the three sisters: a Lv 3 Anzu, Lv 2 Ringo and Mikan, and the stranded Protagonist Lv 1 Zakuro.

Yep, the protagonist is so trashy, not only did he have the lowest level but he can't do anything except doing normal attacks like a punch that only deals 1 to 2 damage or a kick that deals 3 to 6 damage but with a price that he can't make any movement on the turn he is doing a kick.

Meanwhile the three sisters can easily deals 7 to 12 damage, or score a 20 or more if they deals a critical hit, instantly killing any enemies on the first level in one strike.

It is only after the fight on the first level is ended that the protagonist is finally getting his cheat.

When they are crossing the void in the spatial tears on the Rift to return back to their own home world, the protagonist found out that he can absorb the Rift's special energy and make any contract with one of the deceased monsters that he have killed with his own hand on the previous battle.

He then would be able to summon his chosen monsters any time in the future after making contracts with them.

He can get contracts up to the number of his level, each with a different creature.

So for example, at Lv 1 he can only contract 1 Creature, but at Lv 50 (Max Level in the Game) he can have contracts with up to 50 creatures.

However, no matter how much he have contracted creatures, he can only summon and control up to five of them at the same time.

So in maximum, the player can only control the protagonist + the three sisters + five contracted creatures = nine characters at any one time.

Also, he can only contract one creature at the end of each battle, no matter how much enemies he killed in that battle.

The good side is, the player can replay any of the encounter level that they have already cleared so that they can grind for exp to Level Up and also to contract more monster on that stage.

The game have 26 normal levels, 3 hidden levels that is unlocked one for each of the Heroine, 1 secret level that is unlocked on Harem Route, and a Final Boss Fight Level that is unrepeatable as clearing it will immediately result to the game's end followed by a credit roll and any one of the five "good" endings that the player can get.

The Five "Good" Endings are:

1. The Player (or MC) works as an official retainer of the Yaezaki Clan and becomes the Three Sister's lackey -ahem- subordinate. This ending will be unlocked if the MC only played the tactical combat levels and is not dating or pursue any of the heroines in the visual novel style format mini game thatbis available in-between each of the combat levels.

2. Yaezaki Anzu's Ending: The player get this by making MC completed all of Yaezaki Anzu's scenarios on every in-between combat levels. MC will be married with Anzu after they both have graduated from the college and they opened a bakery together with the other sisters in the daytime while still dealing with the Rift whenever the Clan needs them.

3. Yaezaki Ringo's Ending: The player get this by making MC completed Yaezaki Ringo's storyline in visual novel style dating sims like on Anzu's Route. MC will be married with Ringo after they both have just graduated from the High School (man...., they are so fast ) and together they works in the Clan as Exterminator of the Rifts.

4. Yaezaki Mikan's Ending: The player get this ending by making MC completed Yaezaki Mikan's route. MC will be married with Mikan after they both have graduated from the High School just like in Ringo's ending. But instead of being a Rift Hunter and constantly get in combat for the Clan, the couple decided to pension and just have a peaceful life in the end and works in one of the Clan's affiliated company just like any other ordinary human beings.

5. Harem Ending: The best ending, can only be completed by finishing the game at least three times before and getting Anzu, Ringo AND Mikan's endings. After completing all of the three mentioned endings, the player will be able to complete all of the scenario plots instead of choosing only one out of the branching three plots on the visual novel style dating sim that occurs in-between each of the twenty six tactical combat levels in the game. By completing this route, the MC will become the True Harem Protagonist who married the three sisters at the same time after they are all graduated from high school. And together, the four of them will run a special team that deals with the Rifts under the jurisdiction of Yaezaki Clan.

By the way, aside from the uncontractable Final Boss, the game have 69 different kinds of monsters that can be contracted by the protagonist, ranging from the Aliens, Slimes, Insects, Birds, Beasts, Kraken, Skeleton, Zombie, Ghost, Demons, to even the Dragons.

Also, just like the harsh old school Fire Emblem, if any of the summoned creatures are getting killed by the enemies, then they will be erased for good and the protagonist will be left with an empty slot contract so that he can contract a new one to replace the deceased (but he must restart grinding the level of that monster again from the scratch).

Of course, player can also just choose to load the game saves and restarted the battle from the time when their monster hasn't been killed.

However, if any one of the main characters (the protagonist and the three sisters) are the one who is getting killed, the player will instantly get a game over and a bad ending scenario telling the tragic story of the character's death will be immediately played out.

After that, the player must continue the game from their saved files or begin the New Game if they want to be a Maso who starts over from zero.
