It turns out that today we got a spot in the middle of the back garden, on a gazebo with a round table and four chairs to eat together.
That place is literally screaming "I am an Shoujo Genre Ojou-sama Protagonist's eating place!" to my mind.
I remember this place very much, after all, this is the place that is seen in the first episode of Yurihana no Miko anime that occured two days ago on Tuesday, July 25th.
At this place, the two girls have a lunch together and are planning their date- cough cough –going out together to celebrate their sweet seventeen party with just the two of them.
The three of us are having a lunch together, seating on the three out of the four chairs in the gazebo overlooking the school backyard garden.
I sit in the middle, on the back of the round table and looking out straight at an empty chair in front of me and the direct view of a flower garden in the school backyard.
Meanwhile, Kiseki and Chikane are seating on the left and right opposite each other, this way they are facing right to their significant other and still have a side view of the school's flower garden.
Love is in the air....
Just kidding :p
Anyway, the three of us has begun to open our respective lunch box, me with the same traditional style lacquered wooden bento box like the two protagonists.
Of course I would be matching them, it's quite a bit awkward if I am the only one with a very different style lunch box here, like if I am using a plastic mealbox or metalware "rantang" from my Garuda Country in my previous world, that would make me feel like an obvious third wheel here.....
Though I may will do that if I wanna eat a lot or if I am preparing a bunch of meals for when the three of us finally got together.
Rantang is the best mealbox after all.
Okay, let's go back to the story.
I opened my lunchbox first and showed off my lunch to Kiseki and Chikane, a katsu rice bento that are still warm, with rolled eggs and a portion of salad dressed in thousand islands sauce plus another portion of chopped fruits such as strawberries, melons and pineapples as mouthwashes.
One thing that people should know, even though I don't like eating vegetables too much, but I loves eating fruits a lot.
So while my vegetable salad is only a quarter portion than normal, just around 1 or 2 tablespoons.
But my fruits servings are easily filling almost half of my bento box.
Kiseki and Chikane looks at my lunch box with amazement.
Especially Kiseki whose eyes are brimming with sparkling lights when she is seeing a lot of tropical fruits like pineapples in my desserts portion.
Chikane also looks at my fruit slices with interests.
He he he he, I guess even in the anime world, the version of Japan in this world are still having trouble with having a variety of fruits especially the tropical ones.
Although Japan and Korea have a leading technology in the field of farming, but they still need to import a lot of fruits from other country.
Which in turn makes the prices of the fruits here become quite expensive.
I remember making someone from Korea who visited over to my place have their jaws almost dropped seeing me casually picking up bananas and papaya from an ownerless plot of land near my houses, or have my mother in law generously shared her harvested jackfruits for free.
Okay, we have gone sidetracked again I see...
Anyway, seeing Kiseki and Chikane who have their anime style standard issue bento meals, with rice and eggrolls and kaarage and other japanese lunch menu that I believe every otaku out there can even imagine so easily like it is their own staple meals.
As for their fruit palates?
Just some cute cherry tomatoes and some slices of apples.
Kiseki have her apples cutely cut and shaped like little rabbits, while Chikane have the normal ones.
"Kiseki-chan, Saegusa-san, do you want some? Feel free to picks any fruits you want." I offered my fruits to the girls by placing the box in the middle of the table.
"Oh, can I? Then I will pick some. Ranata-kun take mine, too. Although I only have apples and tomatoes." Kiseki giggled cutely while picking some of my fruit slice with a small plastic fork the colour of bright red.
"If you insist, then pardon me." Chikane make a soft cough before she is elegantly picking some of my fruit.
"Here, take mine too." After taking some of my fruits, Chikane picks some of hers and placed it on my bento box.
"Ah, Chikane-chan, you are so fast. Ranata-kun, here is for you." Kiseki who looks at Chikane's deed also copied her and placed her cute rabbits*
...
And just like that, we have quite a harmonious lunch unlike our yesterday's celebration party.
