Dark City Forest Fortress, Medieval Country, Allheaven Planet~
The sky was gloomy with heavy snow. Strangely the snow wasn't pure white instead it had some dark energy lingering in it which gave off an oppressive aura.
Beneath the sky were endless mountains covered in greyish-black snow. There was a greyish-white fortress situated in between the mountains which blocked the forest from the outside world.
"Chaos Wielder Beast, sigh. I wish the Grand Duke was here and we wouldn't have faced such a miserable loss." A Man dressed in golden cracked armour stained in his blood let out. His golden hair flew with the wind as he stood outside the fortress and watched the seven hundred thousand berserk chaos beasts stampeding towards the fortress.
His red eyes shone brightly as he looked behind him. The remaining 16 thousand soldiers out of 50 were completely exhausted of mana and wouldn't be able to put up any resistance again.
Suddenly, the ground starts to tremble, snow falls off the walls and cracks appear on the fortress. The already oppressive atmosphere suddenly became more heavier as all the soldiers' expressions changed.
Their yellow and red eyes turned towards the forest, and they could see all the seven thousand beasts suddenly split apart. It was like their ruler was coming and they had to move aside.
Roooooaaaaaar~
A heavy roar that sends a shockwave across the land echoes in everyone's ear.
As soon as the golden-haired man heard it, his eyes dimmed a bit but suddenly brightened as he yelled.
"Soldiers! This might be our last battle but we must fight as this is an honor to die as a warrior! We must kill hundreds of them and die with pride for we are...!!!"
"VAMPIRIC WARRIORS!!!"
"Good!" The golden-haired man felt happy as he passed on more orders! "Get the mage to ready the cannons! The shapeshifters should be ready for close combat and the archers should prepare magical arrows! We must fight..."
"FOR OUR FAMILY!!!"
"FOR OUR DUKEDOM!!!"
"FOR OUR GRAND DUKE!!!"
The warriors yelled with vigorous energy.
Suddenly, the windows on the wall flung open as cannons were pushed out further, aiming at the beasts.
Magical gun powders were filled into over 100 remaining cannons.
Shuuuuuu~
The cannonballs being fired were so fast, faster than the sound of speed and with a boom, they smashed into the beasts tearing them apart. The smell of roasted bodies drifts into the warriors' nostrils.
"It's a success! We kill them! Don't stop let's keep fighting till our past blood!!!" The soldiers could feel their bodies being boasted by morals as they kept shooting but suddenly a huge beast the size of a small mountain walked out from the forest.
The creature was massive, towering at nearly 20 meters tall and 10 meters long. Its head resembled that of a lizard, but its body was powerful and muscular like that of a lion. Its tail was sharp and deadly, and magma flowed freely from its rough, cracked skin. Dark energy emanated from its very being, surrounding it like a halo of destruction. The sight of it was both majestic and terrifying.
The soldiers' expression suddenly turns pale at the sight of it.
"Drake!!! It's a Hybrid Drake!!!"
"Retreat!!! Defend the fortress!!!"
"We can't defeat it!"
"What are you scared of? What's dead that you're scared of? Let's fight till the end!"
Roaaar!!!
The beast releases a vicious roar as it stomps its hind legs on the ground. The ice that has existed for decades suddenly cracked and got destroyed. The shockwaves hit the wall making some parts split open.
Meanwhile, at the top of the fences, be it archers, Mages, or cannons. All were being launched at the beast. No matter how many hits it took it didn't fall down rather it opened its mouth and from it, a darkish fireball flew out and slammed into the wall killing everyone on top and disintegrating the wall section.
Suddenly, 50 humanoid wolves with strange runes flashing on their forehead and blank eyes dashed out of the fortress to attack the beast but the beast seemed to have expected them. It opens its mouth and sucks in a large amount of air then blast it at the werewolves. Some were able to dodge while the rest got torn by the tornado.
As one of the Werewolves closes in, it raises its sharp claws to strike but the beast shoots its sharp talon and pieces the wolf to death.
The golden-haired man has half of his armour melted by the fireball shot by the Drake, he weakly stands on the lay beside the destroyed fence while observing.
_I am sorry Grand Duke, seems this is all I can do. We lost terribly._ He thought as he felt weak from losing too much blood.
Just then, the dark cloudy sky filled with dark energy split open revealing a bloody beam shooting towards the thousands of beast hordes.
All the warriors felt an extremely dangerous presence within that red bloody aura. Even the beasts attacking or the Drake, all stopped and stared at the bright red light shooting towards them.
Like a spear being thrown by an enraged god, the red light split apart the dark sky, it shone brightly with the ferociousness of a wounded beast.
A figure with red hair, red eyes and pale skin was inside that red beam. It curves in an arc and shoots straight to the Drake at a speed even it can't predict.
BOOOOOM!!!
The shockwave sent the golden-haired man and other soldiers flying backwards. Even the beasts weren't spared from it.
From the red beam which sent the Drake stepping backwards, a man stood up. He was surrounded by blood-like liquids. The smell even felt like blood.
As soon as the golden-haired man saw him, his eyes changed to that of fanatism as he yelled "Everyone retreats! The Grand Duke is here!"
Hearing that, everyone retreated back to the fortress, those who were unconscious were carried by their comrades.
The snow under the Duke's feet evaporated under the intense energy coming from the bloody liquids. It surrounded his armour.
The Duke lifts his head and observes the beast through the V-shape in his helmet.
The more he saw the dead bodies, broken weapons and charred ground of the battlefield, the brighter his red eyes got.
"NO ONE MESSES WITH MY WARRIORS AND LIVE TO TELL THE STORY!!!" He yelled, just his voice alone caused hundreds of weak beasts to explode.
The Drake looked at the Duke and let out a low growl then dashed towards him leaving behind a sonic boom.
The Duke raised his sword and the bloody liquids suddenly wrapped around it.
"SHOW ME YOUR TRUE STRENGTH!!"
Even when the beast felt threat by the bloody man its pride as a colossal Hybrid Drake made it refuse to take a step back.
Suddenly the surrounding temperature increased like crazy, the ice melted and even the floor was filled with large amounts of magma. Without hesitating it condensed a ball of flame and shot it at the man but unlike the previous one, this one was half filled with dark energy.
With a low grunt, the man swung his sword which was coated with blood.
BANG!!!
The shockwave from the collision of both sword and fireball causes shockwaves which also cause intense heat to spread. Some of the beasts and trees within 30 meters got incinerated. Strangely when the shockwaves headed for the soldiers, an aura spread from the bloody man which blocked it, even the man couldn't help but take a step or two back. His sword was getting eroded by the dark energy and he had to infuse more red energy to stabilize it.
"Is that your best attack?" The man asked, from his voice it sounded more like he was disappointed.
"Let me show you my third ultimate attack called a bloody sword." As soon as the man said so he lifted his sword up, and all the dead beasts and soldiers' bodies suddenly turned to mummies as their drops of blood flew out, after gathering it condensed into a short blood sword without its handle.
The man swung his sword in a slow motion, and the blood sword suddenly shot at the beast at an extremely fast speed. It penetrated the beast and incinerated blood, bones, skin and everything of the Drake. It didn't even get the chance to let out a roar before turning to dust.
"ALL HAIL THE GRAND DUKE!!!" The soldiers' eyes were filled with fanatism as they stared at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Duke ignored them and walked towards the place the Drake got killed, he squatted down and picked a ball of dark chaotic energy which wasn't incinerated with the Drake.
_I heard from the Blood Emperor that 'another' Human world is being given a chance to join the Galaxy Battle and that does not sit well with me. I won't allow that and for my plan to work, I will need to weaken them badly. With this energy, my success rate will shoot up to 60% I will make them kill each other and weaken them for D-Day, just like how half of the werewolves, lycanthropy and other humans are now our slaves, so shall this group too._
With such thought, he bites his finger and uses the blood to carve a rune on the floor after which he puts the ball of energy in it and presses his hand on the rune then he infuses some energy in it. Suddenly the formation glowed and the ball disappeared.
