"No we can't do this...this is insane." I almost shouted at my dad.
"Which is exactly why we have to do this." he replied nonchalantly.
"BUT-"
"Vestain you are needed." Someone called my dad and his attention was shifted away. "Yes I will be right there," He said and then looked at me and said with a stern voice almost like an order "Return home once no excuses."
Before I could say anything the contact cutted off. I sighed and cleaned the blood from my face with a clean towel.
I looked back at the dead body of a merchant that I had just assassinated and realized again why I was born.
I cleaned my hands and removed my gloves which I pockied and removed a fresh pair. My whole black assassins outfit at least doesn't show blood and that I am grateful for. I carefully fabricated the scene and swiftly left through the window. My robe flutters as I fall.
Using the shadows of the night I slipped away unnoticed. After some time I entered a bar and sat at the back table. A man almost half my size came and sat beside me.
'Am I really that tall, or it's just because I am an elf...'
Elves are specially known for their beauty, height and will to protect the nature. They are also the guardians of the world tree also called The Eternal Tree.
"Did you do that job?" He asked as he removed his hood.
"Eric, you could have done this job on your own so why did you want me to do it?" I also removed my hood.
"Well, simply because I had another mission I mistakenly took with this one." He said smugly.
"..." I was left completely dumbfounded.
"Ummm I also have a problem that I would like your help with." He said in a shy manner which brought me out of my daze.
"Ya what is it another mission?"
"Ummm so off..you see, I wrote a love letter and accidently sent it to the wrong person."
'Whattttt this dude is really crazy. why does he think I will help.' I snorted inwardly.
"Ahem so I see it did not work out really well."
"No it did...and that's the problem."
"..."
'Huh is he serious.'
"Now I have this crazy nun who is following me around everywhere and trying to turn me into a human."
'How am I supposed to help with this- wait a nun!!!'
"Any Idea what I can do," He looked at me and then waved his hands in front of my eyes "Are you even listening."
I quickly snapped out of it and said "You are a vampire and an assassin you can easily lose her."
His face darkened and then he said in a defeated voice "here is the second problem she is from the troops of god."
"I don't know how to help you anymore." I bluntly refused to help not wanting to have anything to do with the crazy people who kill people in the name of god.
"..."
I sigh after seeing his defiladed face.
"Why don't you run and hide in your house for a couple of years."
"Don't want to." He said firmly.
I raised an eyebrow in question. "And why is that?"
"Here is the third problem because now I like her," he said shyly.
"..."
"She is just so dreamy with her Blush eyes and periwinkle hair. I could just stare at her beauty all day. The way she just killed a girl because she was close to me and her possessiveness of tying me in a chair and feeding me all sorts of things. It just feels so good."
'This dude has completely lost it.'
I said nothing and just left, he tried to hold onto me but I was much stronger in terms of overall agility and easily escaped from his grip.
'Herrick I miss you.' I sigh as I head back to the hero's manor.

I walked out the room with a cookie box in my hand. As I walk downstairs towards my office I hear the door open. I turned my head and saw a hooded person come in. From the height and body shape it was a woman. She looked up and my eyes met her Hazel ones. He removed her hood and said "Back already Jasper?"
"hmm. Where were you?"
"Mission." She said as she walked towards me.
"Ok"
"So what's that?" she said pointing towards the box in my hands. I looked down at it and then back at her and shoved the box in her hands.
"Cookies from Edward. Give some to Herrick also."
She was completely dumbfounded.
I just stared at her because she did not give any reply.
"Did you say cookies!" I hear Herricks voice and the sound of footsteps running.
Ivey turned to the noise as Herrick came running to her. But since the floor was recently moped it was a little wet. Herrick, who could not control his balance, was about to fall on Ivey and cookies but I quickly grabbed his back collar and lifted him up.
"Don't run indoors." I say as I release him. He fell on his butt.
I didn't want to waste time walking away but Ivey's voice stopped me.
"Jasper, Herrick I will have to leave to go back to the elven woods. My father is calling me and I can't defy his orders."
I slowly turned around and looked at her. She was reluctant to go but had no choice but to go. Her face was dark and sad.
"What!!! Why?" Herrick being Herrick gave the most dramatic response.
"Probably because of war." I answered nonchalantly.
"What, we are going to war?"
I ignored Herrick and said to Ivey "You should go, we will come get you later on."
Her expression grew more gloomier but it was for the best.
'I know right now it may sound ridiculous but it is important that you stay safe as a backup. You are meant to be in the shadows not in open battle wars.'
I turn to head to my office as I keep hearing Herrick talk and ask questions and stuff to Ivey.
'War is not just fighting on the battlefield. Because the real definition of war is the combined destruction of the economy, agriculture, social and political aspects of a kingdom.'
