The episode starts with Jessie and her friends looking directly at the Power Plant. The narrator starts recapping the last episode. "After Meowth got separated from our heroes by a lightning bolt, Meowth was able to find his friends and they ended up finding the location where Zapdos is and that's the Power Plant which is just in front of our heroes. Will Meowth prevail this time like with Articuno? Find out right now!"
The title screen shows.
"A Zapdos of Electricity"
"Well this is it, the Power Plant," James stated.
Jessie looks at Meowth. "Meowth, are you ready for another battle with a legendary bird?"
Meowth starts sharpening his nails. "Ready as ever, Jess!"
A lightning bolt strikes near the gang, causing Domino to let out a shriek. "Let's just go inside before we get struck by lightning!"
The gang immediately goes into the Power Plant and when they go inside, the building looks abandoned. "This looks very abandoned." Domino pointed out.
"Well of course it's abandoned, the wild red-eyed Pokémon must've driven the workers out," Jessie responded, assuming.
"I mean before this whole mess started, Jessie!" Domino responded.
Jessie chuckles, rubbing the back of her head. "Sorry."
"Domino is right, this Power Plant was abandoned many years ago for unknown reasons, but some of the machinery here still works," James explained.
"What theory do you guys have on how this place was abandoned?" Meowth asked.
Jessie gives her theory first. "Maybe the workers went on strike and never returned to work?"
Domino gives her theory second. "How about some terrible accident that caused the whole Power Plant to be abandoned and they never returned because of something like this happening again?"
James starts thinking about his theory before responding. "This area is hinted to have Zapdos flying around here, correct? Maybe the legendary bird caused the workers to abandon the Power Plant? But we will never know what happened because we weren't there to experience it."
"Right." Jessie, Domino, and Meowth all replied with a nod as the gang continued walking through the power plant.
The sound of thunder is heard from inside the Power Plant, causing Domino to shiver. "At least lightning can't get us into the building."
"Yeah, or we would've been sent blasting off in the air like Team Rocket." James chuckles.
"That reminds me!" Jessie looks at Meowth. "Didn't you get separated from us with them, Meowth? What happened to Team Rocket?"
Meowth awkwardly rubs the back of his head. "Well… they got taken by wild Fearow."
"Oh goodness, that's terrible," Domino says with a frown.
"I hope they're okay," James added, also feeling worried.
The scene cuts to the air where the three wild red-eyed Fearow are carrying the Team Rocket trio.
Mondo looks over at his partner-in-crimes and signs them 'What are we going to do?' Causing Cassidy and Butch to blank stare at him. "Don't you guys know sign language at all?!" He said, frustrated.
The three wild Fearow immediately angrily cried at Mondo, telling him to be quiet. "FEAROW! FEAROW! FEAROW!"
Cassidy pulls out a pencil and paper, starts writing on it, and then shows it to her partners-in-crime. The paper says; 'Where are they taking us?' Butch and Mondo shrug in response.
A few seconds passed and the three wild Fearow brought the Team Rocket trio to a big nest and they let go, sending the trio to the nest while they screamed. Butch growls, "You could've dropped us a little gently!"
"FEAROW!" One of the Fearow pecks Butch's head.
"OW!" Butch holds his head in pain. "That hurt you dumb bird!"
"Alright, let's stop insulting them before you cause them to peck us to death!" Cassidy explained. "Where inside a nest? But why?"
One of the wild red-eyed Fearow starts calling out. "Fearow! Fearow!"
Team Rocket looks in the direction where the wild red-eyed Fearow is and they see tiny red-eyed baby Spearow heading in their direction in the nest. "Even their babies were born brainwashed? That's just sad." Butch stated.
As the baby red-eyed Spearow gets closer to Team Rocket, they all start pecking on Team Rocket's flesh, taking a bite and pulling off some of their outer skin to eat. "OW! BACKOFF!" Cassidy pushes one of the baby Spearow away which causes her to receive a peck from one of the Fearow.
"What the hell are these Spearow doing?!" Butch also shoves one of the baby Spearow off of him and he also receives a peck from one of the Fearow. "Dammit, stop pecking me!"
Mondo starts panicking at the sight of baby Spearow chewing his outer skin. "Guys, I think the Fearow is having us as their babies' lunch!"
"WHAT?!" Cassidy and Butch both screamed out as the baby Spearow went back to pecking their outer skin, tearing out more. "This is so messed up, back away!" Cassidy was about to push one of the baby Spearow again.
Mondo stopped her. "We can't push the mama's babies away unless you want to suffer brain damage from the pecks from one of the Fearow!"
"Then what are we supposed to do?! These little fuckers are chewing my skin!" Butch continues to suffer pain from the skin chewing of the baby Spearow. "Ow! Dammit!"
Mondo starts grunting from the pain of the baby Spearow's chewing his skin and then he looks to see his partners-in-crime are doing the same. "There's no other choice, I have to use a Pokémon!" Mondo starts pulling out a Poké Ball.
"Mondo, are you crazy?! Our Pokémon are brainwashed, remember!" Cassidy shouted.
"What other options do we have?!" Mondo questioned back. "Unless we want to become Spearow food!"
Butch sighs. "Looks like this is the end of us…"
Mondo quickly throws the Poké Ball in the air. "Ditto, transform into Pidgeot!"
Ditto materializes and out of everyone's shock, including Mondo, Ditto does not have any red-eyes, the transformed Pokémon is immune from the brainwashing. "Ditto!" Then Ditto transforms into Pidgeot, the weight of Pidgeot causes the big nest to break. The three Fearow catch their babies and fly away, but Team Rocket continues to fall to the ground and scream their lungs out.
"PIDGEOT!" Ditto shouted and as a Pidgeot, the transform immediately Pokémon flies under the trio and catches them before they can hit the ground.
"Ditto, you're the greatest!" Mondo hugs his Ditto-transformed Pidgeot.
"But how is Ditto not affected by the psychic brainwashing?" Cassidy questioned.
"I don't care how, I'm just glad they're not. Now we don't have to travel by foot without our hot air balloon!" Mondo says with a smile.
Butch grumbles. "Would've been nice to know earlier that Ditto wasn't infected." He starts scratching the marks where the baby Spearow pecks him. "Damn babies! I'm itchy now!"
"Well, scratching the marks is gonna make them itch worse!" Cassidy tries to resist scratching, but she can't and starts scratching her marks herself as Cassidy and Butch both start scratching at the same time.
Mondo looks at his partners-in-crime with an annoyed look on his face before looking at his transformed Ditto. "Alright Ditto, time to take off."
"Where are we going?" Cassidy asked while scratching.
"To the Power Plant where the twerps are at, of course. We made a truce and we're going to keep it." Mondo points at the sky. "Onwards Ditto!"
"Pidgeot!" Ditto, still transformed as a Pidgeot, spreads its wings and takes off flying with Team Rocket on its back.
The scene cuts back to the Power Plant with that gang walking through it. "How are we supposed to know we're going the right way?" Domino asked. "This Power Plant is designed like a maze!"
"I'm sure no matter where we go, we will end up arriving where Zapdos is," Jessie answered.
"Can't we just scream out loud and have Zapdos come to us?" Meowth suggested.
James immediately shakes his head. "And attract brainwashed wild Pokémon to our direction? No thanks, Meowth."
"Good point, Jimmy," Meowth admits.
Upon walking, the gang noticed some 'Poké Ball' just sitting there at one of the corners of the rooms. "Is that… a Poké Ball?" Domino questioned.
"Who would leave a perfectly good Poké Ball behind?" James shakes his head. "Some people."
"Maybe they accidentally left it when they were too busy evacuating the building." Meowth assumed.
"Well whatever how that Poké Ball got here, I can't just have it go to waste." Jessie goes over to pick it up and then she shows it to the gang, but it turns around on its own and it's revealed to be a wild red-eyed angry Voltorb about to explode.
"JESSIE-" Meowth, Domino, and James all started speaking at the same time to warn her, but it sounded like gibberish to Jessie.
"What are you all trying to say?" Jessie raises an eyebrow but as soon the red-eyed Voltorb starts glowing white, hinting about to explode, that's where she notices and lets out a shriek. "AH!" Jessie quickly throws the glowing white Voltorb and it explodes, causing a noise to repeat throughout the Power Plant and a big hole in the wall to appear.
"This can't be good…" James says, a little worried.
"Come on, we need to find Zapdos before brainwashing Pokémon show up from that explosion!" Jessie ordered.
The gang starts sprinting towards the big hole that was made by the red-eyed Voltorb, until a bunch of wild red-eyed Magnemite and Magneton stop appearing behind both sides of the hole, stopping the gang in their tracks. "MAGNEMITE! MAGNEMITE! MAGNEMITE!" "MAGNETON! MAGNETON! MAGNETON!" Meowth quickly hides in his trainer's pink hat from the sight of the wild red-eyed Pokémon.
"Quick, this way!" Domino points in the other direction where the path was built man-made.
The gang tries to sprint in that direction, but they are stopped once more but this time by wild red-eyed Pikachu and Raichu. "PIKACHU! PIKACHU PIKACHU!" "RAICHU RACHU! RAICHU!"
"Back to the way we came!" Jessie immediately directed.
But before the gang could look, the room where they came from was already stopped by wild red-eyed Pokémon too, Muk, Grimer, and Electrode. "MUK! MUK! MUK!" "GRIMER! GRIMER! GRIMER!" "ELECTRODE! ELECTRODE! ELECTRODE!"
The gang looks at the three exits they can use once more and all of them are surrounded by wild red-eyed Pokémon. "WE'RE TRAPPED!" Jessie shouted.
The wild Red-eyed Magneton starts building up electricity and zaps it towards the gang. "HIT THE DECK!" James warns as he, Jessie, and Domino all dive to the floor to avoid the red-eyed Magneton's Thunder.
However, Magneton's attack ends up hitting the wild red-eyed Electrode on the other side, causing the sphere Pokémon to build up way too much electricity as it starts glowing white and then explodes. Sending the gang hurling to a wall as they hit it and causing all wild red-eyed Pokémon to faint.
Jessie's groaning in pain as she slowly gets up and dusts herself off. "Are you guys alright?"
The sound of coughing is heard from James as he replies from the floor. "Yeah, we're alright." He and Domino also get up.
Domino starts wincing in pain. "Goodness, this hurts! That explosion almost took us out!"
James looks around to see all the red-eyed Pokémon have fainted. "At least it helped us get out of a jam or we would've been more than just hurt."
Jessie and Domino both nod in agreement before Domino realizes something. "Wait, where's Meowth?!"
Jessie's pink hat opens and Meowth reveals himself. "Right here!" He jumps back onto the ground. "I was hiding from those brainwashed Pokémon from the beginning when they appeared so they wouldn't see me with you three." Meowth chuckles and rubs the back of his head. "Turns out it was a better plan than I expected because I'm not hurt from the explosion."
"Why were you hiding from those brainwashed Pokémon?" James asked.
Meowth starts explaining. "Because those brainwashed Pokémon think I'm part of their dumb cult if I act like it. It's a huge advantage for me, just in case something happens to you three, then I can easily take down the legendary birds without worrying about a brainwashed Pokémon potentially killing me. I think it's a good plan, but they can't see me with humans."
"So you're willing to hand us to the brainwashed Pokémon for killing and continue on your own just so they wouldn't think you're helping us?!" Domino gets frustrated with Meowth. "That's such a selfish thing to do, Meowth!"
"I didn't say anything about that!" Meowth hides behind Jessie's leg. "Besides, Jessie said she needs me to be a hundred percent when facing those legendary birds!"
Domino was about to stomp her direction to Meowth until Jessie stopped her. "Hold on, Domino, it's actually a well-thought-out plan."
Domino raises an eyebrow and questions from being confused. "What?"
James joins in and starts explaining. "Think about it, Domino. As of right now, we know that Meowth is the only Pokémon that is immune from the brainwashing which means he's our only hope to save Kanto."
Jessie continues the explanation. "Look at what happened a few minutes ago, we were almost killed by those brainwashed Pokémon! Luckily, Magneton's attack caused Electrode to explode and saved us."
James finishes the explanation. "So if something were to happen to the three of us, then Meowth can adventure on his own to the legendary birds and save Kanto without the worry of brainwashed wild Pokémon attacking him."
After the explanation, Domino takes deep breaths and calms down. "Sorry for that outburst, Meowth. I just want this whole thing to end so my little Azurill can be turned back to normal because I miss my baby so much." She starts bursting into tears.
Jessie and James both pat Domino on the back. "It's okay, Domino, Azurill is safe with Professor Oak back at the lab."
Domino nods before wiping her tears away. "Come on, let's go take on Zapdos."
Jessie, Meowth, and James all nod before the gang continues walking through the Power Plant. "Assuming we are inside of a Power Plant, I got a gut feeling this legendary bird is more on the electric side," Meowth stated.
"Which means we have to outmatch its electricity with your electricity, Meowth. We have been training your Thunderbolt during the Kanto League Tournament, now it's time to put it to the test."
"We don't know how strong Zapdos is. This legendary bird could be stronger than Articuno." Domino says. "But I still have faith that Meowth can beat it."
"I'm going give it my all." Meowth shows off his sharp claws. "That electric bird won't see it coming!"
"I like the confidence, Meowth, but you gotta stay focused. You don't want to jinx yourself after all." James says.
"Oh, I'm focused, Jimmy, focusing on getting that second feather for our collection!" Meowth responded.
Jessie spots the end of the Power Plant. "I think we're near the end, I don't see any other pathway except the back exit."
The gang soon reaches the end of the Power Plant, but sight of any Legendary Bird as they are now confused. "Where is Zapdos?!" Domino asked in disbelief.
"Maybe we took the wrong direction?" James questioned, suggesting a possibility.
Jessie adds another possibility but with a disbelief tone. "Don't tell me that Zapdos isn't here and we just completely wasted our time!"
"What?!" Meowth, Domino, and James all said together in disbelief. "That better not be the case! That means I got dipped in the river for nothing!" Meowth says in anger.
All of a sudden, the gang hears a loud cry from above them as they look up. Upon doing so, they see a yellow-black bird with a long, thin, and orange beak, flying around above them before the Pokémon starts diving towards the gang.
"TO THE FLOOR!" Jessie screamed out, as she and her friends did so to avoid the yellow-black bird's attack.
The yellow-black bird soon lands on the ground right in front of the gang and then it screams at them once more.
Jessie and her friends get back up. "Could that be…" She pulls out her Pokédex and aims it at the yellow-black bird.
"Zapdos, the Electric Pokémon, an electric and flying type. A legendary bird Pokémon that is said to appear from clouds while dropping enormous lightning bolts."
"It's Zapdos! It's right in front of us!" Domino said, cheerfully.
James starts supporting Jessie and Meowth. "Alright Jessie, be aware of Zapdos' strength. You and Meowth got this!"
Jessie gives James a thumbs up in response before looking at Meowth. "Ready to take on this legendary bird, Meowth?"
Meowth nods, showing off both of his sharp claws now. "I will always be ready, Jess." He jumps in front of Jessie, staring down Zapdos, and getting ready to battle.
Jessie also stares down Zapdos and points directly at the legendary bird. "Zapdos, I challenge you to a battle! If I win, I'll get one of your feathers and restore this side of Kanto to its full glory! Do we have a deal?"
Zapdos screeches loudly at Jessie in response as the legendary bird starts getting ready to battle.
This leaves Jessie confused as she looks at Meowth. "That means it agreed, right?"
Meowth nods, translating what Zapdos said. "Zapdos agreed on the terms, although it also said that they have some terms too."
Jessie raises an eyebrow. "And what are the terms?"
Zapdos screeches loudly at Jessie again as Meowth translates once more. "They said that you and your friends have to stop trying to restore Kanto by collecting our feathers."
"Wait, how does Zapdos know that we're trying to restore Kanto by collecting the legendary birds' feathers?" James questioned.
Domino joins in and questions about it too. "Yeah! How does Zapdos know?!"
Zapdos immediately breaks the conversation by firing the first move at Meowth, the legendary bird fires a massive yellow beam of electricity at Meowth.
"AH!" Meowth yelped and quickly dodged the move by leaping out of the way.
Jessie clutches her fist in anger. "Hey! We weren't ready yet, Zapdos!"
Zapdos screeches angrily to Jessie in response.
Jessie commands her first move of the battle. "Meowth, use Thunderbolt!"
"Time to give you a taste of your own electricity medicine!" Electricity begins to surround Meowth's body as he sends a bolt of electricity directly to Zapdos.
Zapdos doesn't move at all, the legendary bird takes the move and shrugs it off like it was nothing.
"Meowth, that's not a powerful Thunderbolt! What happened to all of our training during the Indigo Plateau?!" Jessie questioned in disbelief.
Meowth makes up some excuse. "I'm sorry, I wasn't ready at that time!"
Domino looks at James. "I don't get it, Zapdos is part electric type, so Meowth's Thunderbolt shouldn't even affect it like we just saw, right?"
James nods. "Right, but we both saw before how much Jessie is trying to make Meowth's Thunderbolt very powerful. With the right amount of power, Meowth's Thunderbolt can deal some incredible damage to Zapdos despite its typing, we just have to wait and see."
Zapdos spreads its wings and starts flying around the made-up battle area between them and Meowth.
Meowth groans in annoyance. "Do we have to deal with this again?"
Zapdos starts flying down towards Meowth as its beak starts spinning like a drill.
"Jessie, watch out for Zapdos' Drill Peck attack!" James warned.
"Quick, Meowth, use Double Team!" Jessie commanded.
Meowth makes illusion copies of itself around the made-up battlefield as he and his illusions all grin. "What are you going to do now?" Meowth and the illusions all said at the same time to Zapdos.
Zapdos ends up both pecking and drilling on one of the illusions and it disappears. The legendary bird ascends back up to the air and looks at all the Meowth below, then its eyes begin glowing light blue, looking around all the Meowth on the made-up battlefield while in the air.
"What is Zapdos doing?" Domino asked, looking at James.
James was thinking of a question that Domino asked. "I think Zapdos is possibly using…"
Zapdos' light blue eyes start staring directly at one of Meowth's illusion copies before its beak starts spinning like a drill again. Once the legendary bird swoops down, it manages to hit the right Meowth, avoiding hitting an illusion.
"OW!" Meowth screamed from taking damage as his illusions disappeared once taking damage from Zapdos' Drill Peck.
Jessie's eyes widened in shock. "How did Zapdos find out which was the right Meowth and avoid the illusions?!"
James realizes what Zapdos did and shouts to Jessie so she can hear. "Jessie, Zapdos must've used Detect to detect the real Meowth and was able to outsmart the Double Team!"
Zapdos screeches loudly and goes back flying in the air, around the made-up battlefield.
Jessie growls. "Great, now Double Team is also useless against Zapdos too."
Meowth looks back at his trainer. "Jess, how are we going to battle Zapdos when it's up in the air?!"
"Maybe we can paralyze it to the ground like we did with Articuno-" Jessie cuts off her sentence from realizing. "Wait a minute, an electric type Pokémon like Zapdos can't be paralyzed! Crap!"
"She's right, Jessie can't use Meowth's Thunderbolt to paralyze Zapdos and prevent them from flying!" Domino stated.
"Then how's Jessie gonna keep Zapdos on the ground without paralysis?" James questioned. "This is something I have to see."
"Jess, I'm waiting for your response!" Meowth demanded, worried.
Zapdos sees Meowth distracted while in the air and uses the opportunity to attack by firing a yellow electrical beam at the talking Pokémon.
Jessie immediately sees the beam heading to Meowth and warns him. "Maybe you turn around and dodge that Thunder attack!"
"HUH?!" Meowth turns around and sees the yellow electrical beam heading towards him. "AH!" The talking Pokémon jumps out of the way just in time to dodge Zapdos' Thunder and the move hits the ground. Meowth gets up and stares angrily at the flying Legendary Bird, rattling his fist. "How about you fly back down here and fight me like a man!"
Zapdos screeches angrily in response to Meowth's statement and blasts out another yellow electrical beam at Meowth from its mouth.
"YIKES!" Meowth quickly jumps out of the way to avoid that move again. "Jess, if you have a strategy here, please let me know! The talking Pokémon says while looking up at Zapdos flying around.
Jessie starts thinking of a strategy to possibly get Zapdos close to the ground for Meowth to reach and she thinks of one. "Meowth use Double Team!"
Meowth's eyes widened in disbelief. "We already tried that before, Zapdos will just use Detect to detect me!"
"Just use the move!" Jessie demanded. "I'm letting you know that I got a strategy here!"
"This better work!" Meowth makes illusion copies of himself around the made-up battlefield.
"Have you figured out what Jessie's planning, James?" Domino asked.
James shakes his head in response. "I don't have a clue, but let's hope whatever Jessie planned will work."
Zapdos' eyes glow light blue, scanning the made-up battlefield field with Meowth illusions, until its eyes spot the real one. The legendary bird's beak starts spinning like a drill and starts diving below, about to strike Meowth with a Drill Peck.
As soon as Zapdos is close enough, Jessie commands a move to Meowth. "Now use Slash!"
All the illusions disappear, one of Meowth's claws glows white, and it becomes sharper. The talking Pokémon slashes a diving Zapdos towards him right in the face, dealing damage as the legendary bird screams in pain, and falls directly to the ground.
Jessie immediately takes the opportunity to strike again. "Quick, before Zapdos gets up, use Bite!"
"Time to add insult to injury!" Meowth quickly dashes at Zapdos on the ground and bites its orange beak.
This causes the legendary bird to scream in pain. Zapdos activates his beak to spin around and around like a drill, causing Meowth to go around and around the beak and scream.
Jessie has a worried expression. "Crap! Meowth, get off of that beak!"
Meowth lets go of Zapdos' beak, causing him to get flung and then hit a wall. He slowly gets up, dizzy and stumbling all over. "I'm… okay."
Zapdos' beak starts spinning like a drill again and flies straight to Meowth and pecks him right in the stomach.
The talking Pokémon gets flung back and hits another part of the wall. "Ow…"
"MEOWTH!" Jessie called out.
Both Domino and James look worried about Meowth taking a beating from Zapdos. "If Meowth loses, we can't restore Kanto to its full glory!" Domino reminded James. "My sweet baby Azurill will be stuck in brainwashing town forever!"
James yells at Meowth to keep fighting. "Hang in there Meowth, you can do this!"
Jessie joins in with James. "James is right, Meowth, you gotta get up!"
Meowth hears the words of encouragement. He was able to get up and stared directly at Zapdos. "I didn't hear any bell ringing, you electric bird!"
Zapdos stares back at Meowth, sending an electric yellow beam directly at the talking Pokémon.
"Counter it with Thunderbolt, Meowth!" Jessie quickly commanded.
Electricity starts flowing around Meowth's fur and he sends a blast of electricity towards Zapdos. "Gotta get my Thunderbolt more powerful!"
Meowth's Thunderbolt and Zapdos' Thunder collide. The talking Pokémon was almost using all its strength and Meowth's Thunderbolt almost came up on top, but Meowth got tired as Zapdos' Thunder got the upper hand, obliterating Meowth's Thunderbolt and heading towards him, but the talking Pokémon was able to dodge by jumping to his right.
"Did you see that? Meowth almost overpowered Zapdos' Thunder with his Thunderbolt!" Domino says with a smile.
James nods in agreement, also smiling. "Meowth has the strength to beat Zapdos, he can do it."
Zapdos screams before his beak starts spinning like a drill, flying directly toward Meowth.
"Meowth, dodge it!" Jessie commanded.
"You're not gonna catch me!" Meowth once more was able to dodge Zapdos' attack by jumping out of the way.
Zapdos accidentally slams his beak right into the wall and the legendary bird ends up getting his beak stuck in the wall for a little bit, not able to move before quickly getting unstuck, screaming, and going back to flying in the air.
Jessie witnessed this and started thinking of an idea. "I got an idea, let's hope this works!"
Meowth hops back onto the made-up battlefield. "Alright Jess, Zapdos is back in the air, what's the next move?"
Jessie tells Meowth what to do. "I want you to start insulting Zapdos, get under their skin, and hope they use Drill Peck again."
Meowth falls in disbelief before getting back up. "Are you serious?! No move or anything, just throw insults like it was some video game lobby?! Are you trying to get me killed?!"
"Trust me, Meowth, I got an idea! Now do it." Jessie ordered.
Meowth looks up at Zapdos and starts insulting them like his trainer commanded. "Hey Zapdos, your beak looks like a stick. Did you find a stick and decide to shove it up in your face and call it a beak?"
Zapdos screeches in anger and blasts more electric yellow beams at Meowth in the air.
"AH!" Meowth quickly jumps out of the way to dodge them.
Jessie smiles, assuming her plan is working. "It's working, keep doing it, Meowth, insult away!"
Meowth looks up again and starts insulting the legendary bird once more. "Out of all the legendary birds out there, you're the weakest! You will never live up to the other two!"
Zapdos gets even more mad as the legendary bird now wants to physically hurt Meowth. Zapdos screeches loudly in anger as its beak starts spinning like a drill then the legendary bird starts diving straight down to the talking Pokémon.
Meowth starts shaking a little in fear, seeing how Zapdos is mad. "I-I hope Jess knows what she's doing." He says quietly to himself.
Jessie looks to see Zapdos getting closer and closer to Meowth with its spinning beak and commands the right time to dodge. "DODGE IT, MEOWTH!"
Meowth quickly jumps out of the way as Zapdos ends up getting to the ground with its spinning drill beak. The legendary bird's beak ends up drilling a little hole and it causes Zapdos to be stuck in the ground. The legendary bird tries to get out, but the beak is stuck right in the ground tight.
Jessie pumps up her fist. "There we go! Now Zapdos can't fly up in the air. It's stuck right on the ground!"
Both Domino and James smile in delight at Jessie's strategy. "That was Jessie's strategy! To get Zapdos' beak stuck in the ground!" Domino stated.
"And now Zapdos can't fly or use any moves! It's wide open!" James added.
"Meowth, use Slash!" Jessie commanded.
"You're going down, pal!" Meowth's claws glow white and become sharper as he slashes Zapdos across with them.
The legendary bird screams in pain and tries to get itself unstuck from the ground, but it's no good.
Jessie commands Meowth the same move over and over. "Use Slash again and again! Keep using it until Zapdos is down for good!"
"You got it, Jess!" Meowth's claws remained glowing white and sharpened. He slashes Zapdos with his right claw and then slashes the legendary bird again with his left claw. Meowth keeps doing this over and over like his trainer commanded.
Zapdos looks extremely hurt from all the damage it took. The legendary bird gives one extreme push to get itself unstuck from the ground.
Jessie clutches her fist. "One more should do it, Meowth! Use Slash!"
"Azapdos!" Meowth joked with a pun before dashing towards the legendary bird with his sharp claws, about to deliver the final strike.
But Zapdos manages to get its beak unstuck from the ground with the final extreme push and flies up in the air to dodge the move as Meowth ends up swiping air at the last second.
Jessie grits her teeth. "Dang it! So close!"
Domino and James both look worried. "Zapdos got unstuck," Domino stated.
"And Meowth was close too on winning this," James added.
Zapdos screeches loudly in the air before sending an electric yellow beam towards Meowth.
"Meowth, Thunderbolt!" Jessie commanded.
"This might shock you, Zapdos!" Meowth joked again. Electricity begins flowing around Meowth, he then sends a bolt of powerful electricity at the legendary bird.
Zapdos' Thunder and Meowth's Thunderbolt both collide again as it becomes another game of tug-of-war of which move will power through.
Jessie tries to encourage Meowth. "Hold it, Meowth, you can't let Zapdos beat you again!"
Domino and James both join in on encouraging Meowth. "Come on Meowth, you can do it!" "Yeah Meowth, we're all with you!"
Zapdos' Thunder starts to get the upper hand as it gets closer and closer to Meowth. The talking Pokémon starts speaking inside his mind. "I can't give up, I have to use all of my power. It might tire me out, but I need to do it, to save Kanto!" Meowth starts turning up the juice, he lets out a scream before using more power. "AAAAAHHHHHH!"
With Meowth using more power, his Thunderbolt starts overpowering Zapdos' Thunder, but then the legendary bird lets out a screech of its own and now it's back down to a draw with both Pokémon using all their power.
Meowth starts speaking inside his mind again. "I can't give up! I can't lose! They're all cheering for me!"
"COME ON, MEOWTH, HANG IN THERE!" The gang all screamed at the same time.
A few seconds passed and both Pokémon are now showing signs of tiredness. However, Zapdos looks even more tired as Meowth's Thunderbolt gets closer and closer to the legendary bird and its Thunder gets more weakened.
"For Kanto!" Meowth opens his eyes and uses his last bit of electricity power to break through Zapdos' Thunder and hit the legendary bird.
Zapdos screams in a lot of pain before falling back down to the ground and faints from the battle, signaling the talking Pokémon has won.
Meowth drops to one knee from exhaustion, taking deep breaths. "I did it…"
"MEOWTH!" Jessie runs up to Meowth, picks him up, and hugs the talking Pokémon. "All of that training during the Kanto League Tournament was worth it!"
Domino and James both high-fived each other while singing a tune. "They did it! They did it! They did it!"
"Let's just get the feather already," Meowth says.
Jessie nods. "Right." She puts Meowth down and walks over to the fainted Zapdos before pulling off a yellow and black feather and then showing it to her friends. "Got it!"
Once Jessie grabs the feather, the scene cuts to the whole lightning area of Kanto filled with storms, but it starts clearing up and the blue sky fills in with the Sun shining. It cuts back to the Power Plant with the gang.
James begins to think and looks at the fainted Zapdos. "I'm still questioning how Zapdos knows about us collecting the legendary birds' feathers."
"Maybe Zapdos was informed about us?" Jessie assumed.
However, before the gang can continue the conversation, the roof of the power plant explodes, causing the gang to scream in fear. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Domino questioned in fear.
The gang hears the sound of a helicopter as they look up and see one with the Team Rocket logo on it and someone with a rocket launcher who blew up the roof with it. The Team Rocket member had sky-blue hair, it was Archer that Jessie battled from the Silph Co. building.
Archer looks down to see Zapdos has already fainted and grins. "Oh wow! Thank you so much for making this capture much easier than the rest! Drop the net!"
Jessie grits her teeth, raising her fist in the sky at Archer. "What are you doing?!"
"Sorry, but we will be taking Zapdos now. Bosses orders!" Archer snaps his fingers.
From where the engine is, the helicopter drops a net and secures the fainted Zapdos inside. As the helicopter ascends, so does the fainted legendary bird inside the net.
Jessie points directly at the net. "Meowth, slash the net and free Zapdos!"
Meowth climbs onto Jessie's pink hat and then jumps from it to give him a height boost to be able to reach and slash the net, but this causes Meowth to scream in pain and doesn't break the net at all. "MY CLAW!" Meowth lands back on the ground on his feet.
"What the?!" The gang all said in shock.
Archer was still grinning from above. "One of the finest unbreakable materials for a net, wouldn't you say? Now I would love to stay and chat, but I got to go. Farewell!" The Team Rocket villain waves goodbye before the helicopter takes off.
Meowth was holding his paw from the pain. "What was that net made of?!"
Jessie grits her teeth in frustration, looking up at the hole that Archer made. "How are we going to go after him?! We can't use our Pokémon because they're brainwashed out of their minds!"
The gang then hears three familiar voices and a familiar nickname to them. "OH TWERPS!" It was the Team Rocket trio, Cassidy, Butch, and Mondo, on their Ditto-transformed Pidgeot and it landed next to the gang. "You guys need a lift?" Cassidy asked.
The gang smiles in delight. "TEAM ROCKET!" They all said. "Wow, the only time we're happy for you guys to randomly appear," Domino says.
"There's a helicopter I need you guys to chase! Come on guys, hop on!" Jessie said as she and her friends hopped on the Ditto-transformed Pidgeot.
Mondo points in the air. "Alright Ditto, follow the helicopter!"
"Pidgeot!" Ditto spreads its wings and begins flying with Team Rocket and now the gang on its back. It spots the helicopter carrying Zapdos in the distance and begins following it.
On the back of Ditto and it was flying as a Pidgeot, James realized something. "Wait, Ditto is immune from being brainwashed like the rest of the Pokémon?"
"I know right? We found out at the moment we needed it the most!" Butch said.
"Looks like you're not that special after all, Meowth." Cassidy followed up with a chuckle.
Meowth sticks out his tongue in response, also rolling his eyes and crossing his arms. "Whatever."
Jessie has an annoyed look on her face. "You know, it would've been nice to know about Ditto's resistance earlier."
"Hey, we didn't know either, okay? There's a saying that goes: it's better to know now than never. So sit back and let Ditto follow that helicopter." Mondo says.
As the helicopter flies off in the distance, so does Ditto chasing after it as a Pidgeot with the Team Rocket trio and the gang on its back. The narrator begins talking to wrap up the episode. "It seems like our heroes have come across Team Rocket's admin once more, Archer, who just stole Zapdos from the Power Plant. But luckily the Team Rocket trio we all know and love came to the gang's rescue with Ditto, who is transformed into Pidgeot! Why did Team Rocket steal Zapdos, what are their plans? And how will Jessie stop them despite the rest of her Pokémon being brainwashed? Find out as the journey continues!"
