Chereads / AU: Jessie’s Pokémon Journey / Chapter 13 - The Mysteries of Elekid

Chapter 13 - The Mysteries of Elekid

The episode opens up with the gang wandering in the forest with Jessie fiddling with her Pokédex.

Domino looks over. "Jessie, what are you doing?"

"Well first, I tried to see if there was a map or something on this Pokédex, but no good. Now I decided to switch a Pokémon out with my Squirtle that I recently caught." Jessie answered.

"Which Pokémon is it?" James asked.

"It better not be Meowth!" Meowth says.

"That's a great idea Meowth! Thanks for the suggestion." Jessie joked with a chuckle.

Meowth's jaw dropped. "JESSIE, I SWEAR IF YOU-"

"Meowth chill, it's not you. I was joking around." Jessie continues to chuckle.

Meowth however didn't like that joke. He scratches Jessie right in the face with an angry expression on his face.

Jessie screams in pain from the scratch. "Okay, I deserve that…"

"Jessie, can you answer my question from earlier?" James asked.

"Oh right! The Pokémon that I'm switching out for my Squirtle is Gyarados!" Jessie answered.

Both Domino and James gasped in shock.

"Of course, switching out an already strong water-type Pokémon with a weaker water-type. What a great plan, Jess!" Meowth sarcastically says.

"Jessie, why are you getting rid of Gyarados with Squirtle?" Domino questions.

"Hey, I want to train all of my Pokémon after all. One of the true steps of becoming a Pokémon master is training all the Pokémon that you caught! Not just the first six in your party." Jessie pulls out Gyarados' Poké Ball and places it on the yellow circle of the Pokédex.

The Poké Ball gets transported to Professor Oak's lab. Another Poké Ball immediately appears right after, signaling the transaction has been completed. Jessie grabs Squirtle's Poké Ball and sprints off.

"Where are you going?!" Domino yells.

Jessie looks back while sprinting off. "To find a new Pokémon to battle with my Squirtle and possibly catch!"

The title screen shows.

"The Mysteries of Elekid!"

Jessie runs through the forest, looking for a wild Pokémon to battle with, when she comes to a stop as she arrives at a beach with a sunset.

"Beautiful sunset, but I'm looking for a Pokémon, not to watch it. Hmm…" Jessie looks around the beach, trying to find any Pokémon nearby, but no luck. "Man, there's nothing here!" She pouted.

As an ocean tide reaches the shoreline, something that looks like a purple seashell appears on the sand.

"Oh wow, look at that seashell! I think it will make a nice souvenir." Jessie walks over to the purple seashell and tries to pull it out, but can't. "How deep is this seashell?!"

She finally pulls out the purple seashell from the sand, however, it turns out it wasn't a seashell at all. It was a Pokémon and it strikes Jessie as she falls on the ground and screams in pain.

"Shellder!" The Pokémon looks mad.

Jessie immediately gets up. "Even better, a Pokémon!" She pulls out her Pokédex and aims it toward the Pokémon that she found.

"Shellder, a water-type Pokémon. Its hard shell repels any kind of attack. It is vulnerable only when its shell is open."

"Another water-type huh? I guess I'm fighting fire with fire, or should I say water with water! Squirtle, I choose you!" Jessie sends Squirtle out into battle.

"Squirtle!"

"Use Tackle, Squirtle!"

Squirtle goes in with a Tackle, but Shellder hides in its shell, using Withdraw, just in time as Squirtle tackles, but takes damage, because of attacking its shell.

"AH, Squirtle!" Jessie yelled.

The Shellder comes out of hiding and then goes in, uses Tackle, and hits Squirtle as the Pokémon gets flung back.

"Crap, this isn't looking good," Jessie says to herself.

Shellder starts moving towards Squirtle, it looks like it's going to use Tackle once more.

"AH!" Jessie yells and tries to think fast. "Wait… two can play that game. Squirtle, Withdraw!"

Squirtle quickly withdraws into its shell as the Shellder strikes the shell with Tackle, it backfires for the Pokémon as it ends up taking damage.

"Now Bite, Squirtle!"

Squirtle uses Bite and the attack lands as the Shellder takes even more damage.

Jessie takes out an empty Poké Ball from her purse. "Poké Ball, go!" She throws it at the Shellder.

Shellder gets hit with the Poké Ball, as the Pokémon goes in. The Poké Ball starts wiggling in the sand. On the third shake, it clicks, signaling a successful catch.

Jessie jumps up in the air with a pose. "YES, I CAUGHT A SHELLDER!"

"Squirtle!" Squirtle joins in with a pose for itself.

The Poké Ball glows white and then Shellder gets transported to Professor Oak's lab. Jessie hears clapping from behind her as she looks behind her to see James and Meowth clapping on her successful catch as Domino is crossing her arms and looking away.

Jessie chuckles and rubs her head. "Thank you, thank you very much." She then notices Domino looking away with her arms crossed. "What's wrong Domino, why are you moody?"

Domino looks at Jessie. "Because you're hogging up the water types, that's why! Say how about a trade, your Squirtle for my Bulbasaur!"

Jessie laughs and shakes her head. "No way! Squirtle here will definitely be a great value to the team! Isn't that right, Squirtle?"

"Squirtle!" Squirtle jumps up and down in happiness.

"Good job, Squirtle, you deserve a good rest," Jessie recalls Squirtle back into its Poké Ball.

Domino looks annoyed that Jessie declined the trade offer, but she respects her decision and doesn't say anything.

James looks at the sunset. "It's getting late, we should head back to the forest and camp out again."

Domino groans in annoyance. "James, I'm sick and tired of camping out!"

Jessie nods in agreement. "Yeah, we're getting sick and tired of camping out once more!"

"Well there's nothing we can't really do, we haven't seen a building in days," James responded.

As Meowth looks around, he spots a random host nearby on a cliff and points at it. "Hey look over there, I see a Sea Cottage!"

The trio looks where Meowth is pointing and they perk up in excitement.

Jessie raises her fist in the air. "Yes, a Sea Cottage! It's our lucky day!"

"They will definitely have some rooms to sleep in!" Domino added.

"And I'm sure that the owner will definitely give us directions to Vermilion City!" James added as well.

It cuts to the outside entrance of the Sea Cottage where the gang arrives at the front door.

"So, do we just ring the doorbell?" Jessie asked, about to ring it.

"What if this Sea Cottage is abandoned? I mean who wants to live by themselves on the side of the cliff away from a city and other humans?" James questions.

"I mean, the peace, the quiet, no annoying car horns every three seconds, the beautiful sounds of the ocean that can easily put you to sleep during the night. Not to mention that you got your very own beach you can relax and get a tan. I would definitely live here!" Domino answers in delight.

"Okay, you definitely made a point there," James admitted.

Meowth crosses his arms. "You only want to live here because of the beach!"

Domino glares at Meowth. "Shut your 'Meowth!'"

"Very funny…" Meowth says, sarcastically.

"Can I ring the doorbell now?" Jessie asked once more, now annoyed.

James nods in response. "Go ahead."

Jessie rings the doorbell. The doorbell rings which creeped out the gang a little as they took a little step back away from the door.

"Come in!" An unknown voice to the gang is heard coming from the inside.

"Well, it's not abandoned," Domino says.

Jessie opens the door as the gang steps into the Sea Cottage. Although, all they see is a desk with a computer on it, two machines with a green tube attached to them, and also an orange, insect Pokémon that resembles the nymph stage of a cicada, as soon as they enter the house.

Domino immediately screams after seeing the orange insect Pokémon and hides behind Jessie.

Jessie looks around in confusion. "Uhh… who allowed us to enter?"

"Perhaps the person went into the kitchen or upstairs?" James suggested in questioning.

"I'm right here!" The Pokémon said to the gang.

This shocked the gang seeing another talking Pokémon.

"EEP, A TALKING PARAS!" James yells out.

"NO WAY, A TALKING PARAS OWNS THE HOUSE?!" Jessie also yells out.

"I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY TALKING POKÉMON?!" Meowth yells out as well.

Paras immediately starts shaking their head. "No, you're mistaken! I'm not actually a Paras, I'm a human, I just accidentally turned myself into a Pokémon from an experiment that went really wrong."

Upon hearing that, Domino slowly stops hiding behind Jessie, she's still shaking in fear a little.

Meowth sighs in relief and cheers. "HA! I'm still the only talking Pokémon!"

The person trapped in the body of a Paras starts to beg. "I have been waiting for someone to help me get back into my human self for days! Oh please, pretty please will you help me?"

Jessie nods. "Sure, we will help you."

"Okay, wait till I get inside the teleporter. When I do, go to my computer over there and run the Cell Separation System." The Paras person crawls and goes inside the teleporter.

Jessie blank stares in confusion. "'Cell Separation System'?" She goes over to the computer and turns it on.

Immediately after Jessie turns on the computer, she initiates the teleporter's Cell Separator. The right teleport starts glowing in colors which amazed the gang, then a light orb is seen moving across the green tube that was connecting the two teleporters. Now the left teleporter starts glowing as it opens. Not a Paras, but a human, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a formal long-sleeved shirt, steps out of the teleporter, which shocked the gang once more.

The person bows his head. "Thank you so much, I'm a human again!"

"You're welcome, but who are you?" Jessie asked.

The brown-haired person starts introducing himself. "I'm Bill! I'm a Pokémon Researcher, mostly regarded as an expert if you will."

The gang all start introducing themselves to Bill.

"I'm Jessie!"

"I'm James!"

"I'm Domino!"

"And I'm Meowth, that's right!"

Bill looks at Meowth, really impressed. "Wow, I have never seen an actual talking Pokémon before!"

"Yeah yeah, I'm not accepting any autographs pal, so keep dreaming," Meowth says.

"Meowth!" Jessie rubs her head in embarrassment at Bill. "Sorry, please excuse me, Meowth is like this. Professor Oak gave Meowth to me when I began my Pokémon journey."

"No way, Professor Oak gave you this Meowth?!" Bill says in shock.

Jessie nods. "Yeah, it was that or catch my very first Pokémon."

"How about I give you and your friends a crash course in Pokémon? I don't like to brag but some people say I'm a better Pokémon Researcher than Professor Oak." Bill says while rubbing his head with a chuckle.

The gang all gasps in shock.

"No one can't be better than the great Professor Oak!" Domino says.

"Observe!" Bill starts explaining his research. "This planet was created 4.6 billion years ago. During that time, all kinds of Pokémon existed. They had many ways of living. But not once has a Pokémon replicated human speech. And also, your Meowth seems to be walking on two legs instead of four!"

Meowth grins. "I'm pretty special alright."

"I'm really surprised Professor Oak gave you this really rare Meowth instead of doing research, Jessie," Bill says.

"Well, I really wanted a starter, so I guess he had no choice." Jessie chuckles.

"I was surprised too when I heard Meowth talk for the first time," James says.

"I see. All of you, come to my room real quick." Bill says as he starts heading upstairs.

The gang all look at each other and shrug as they follow Bill up the stairs. It cuts to outside up a hill where we see Team Rocket looking at Bill's house with binoculars.

"According to my research, that Sea Cottage belongs to the famous Pokémon Researcher, Bill!" Cassidy says.

"That means this guy must be really rich!" Butch says.

"Which means there's money we can steal!" Mondo confirmed.

Cassidy begins to think. "However, how are we going to get to that house stealthily?"

"You think Bill has a guarded Pokémon or something? Let's just walk up to the front and sneak from the back." Butch suggested.

"That's such a cliche, we're the bad guys, we got to enter the Sea Cottage with more style. I say we climb those cliffs." Cassidy suggested.

"A-ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!" Butch yelled.

Cassidy groans. "Butch, don't tell me you're afraid of heights?"

"I'm not afraid of heights you dumbass, otherwise I wouldn't be traveling around with you guys in a hot air balloon! What if one of us loses our grip and falls? We're basically dead!" Butch responded.

"I'm sure we have some safety climbing equipment, right?" Mondo asked.

"Stop being such babies, we don't need climbing equipment. Let's go!" Cassidy begins walking to the beach.

Mondo and Butch both look at each other and gulp in fear. It cuts back inside Bill's house as Bill and the gang enter the Pokémon Researcher's room.

"So what did you want to show us, Bill?" Jessie asked.

"This!" Bill snaps his fingers

His research room's lights dim and surrounding the entire room is a projector of all the known 151 Pokémon in Kanto. Jessie and her friends all look around the room in amazement.

Bill starts explaining. "Pokémon are more numerous than we can possibly count on this planet. With each passing year or so, there are more Pokémon that we are aware of. Almost 151 known species were there at first, and subsequently, the number of species rapidly rose."

"How many Pokémon are there right now, Bill?" Domino asked.

"I believe there are over 1,000 Pokémon as of right now!" Bill answered.

The gang all expressed shock.

"OVER 1,000 POKÉMON?!" Jessie immediately falls in disbelief.

"Still want to catch them all, Jessie?" Domino giggles.

"No way a trainer can't catch every Pokémon in the world at this point," James says.

"Yeah, they must be mad to try to accomplish something like that!" Meowth added.

"Actually it is still possible to catch them all, but it will require some time, and with more Pokémon being discovered, who knows when humans will discover every Pokémon in the world? Catching every Pokémon in the world will make you a legendary trainer. You will be known across the world and remembered because such accomplishment is so difficult to achieve." Bill says.

Jessie looks down and sighs. "I don't know if I can do that, I know I said before that I am going to catch every Pokémon in the world, but I'm not even close to 151 like it was originally was."

Bill starts explaining more. "There are so many Pokémon in different regions, but it gives us a purpose to go out there and explore more of the world! Pokémon are mysterious, no one knows how they got here, but there are so many theories. Some say that Pokémon were on this planet way before humans existed. Some also say our planet is endless and there is no end to this world that we live in. That's why we keep discovering new regions and Pokémon."

Jessie starts holding her head. "Bill, you're really giving me a headache here!"

Meowth also holds his head. "Same here!"

"I don't know if I can even process this information," Domino says.

"Learning… so… much!" James says while also holding his head.

"Oh sorry!" Bill chuckles and rubs his head. "I always get carried away when it comes to this. Basically, as Pokémon trainers, you three should keep exploring and meet new and tons of Pokémon across the world in different regions."

"Well, I actually caught a Pokémon from a different region before. Professor Oak told me it came from Johto and that it was rare to find one here in Kanto." Jessie says.

This catches Bill's interest. "Really now? May I see it? I'm really interested."

Jessie nods. "Of course!" She sends out Elekid.

"Ele!" The Pokémon then looks at Bill and stands in front of them.

Bill starts observing Elekid. "Hmm… I see." He nods and begins thinking. "This Pokémon looks really similar to one of the Kanto Pokémon actually. I believe your Elekid will evolve into that."

"Are you saying Elekid will evolve into a Kanto Pokémon?" Jessie asked, shocked as well.

Bill nods. "Correct. I can tell as I recognize the entire Kanto Pokédex, and Elekid just looks too similar to this one Pokémon, it must evolve into it."

"Can you show us?" Domino asked.

"Do you all want to see what this Elekid will evolve into?" Bill asked.

The gang immediately nodded in agreement because of how curious they are.

"Well first, I really want to see your Elekid in battle. It really sparked my interest, no pun intended. I'll tell you what Jessie, I want you to have a one-on-one battle with me tomorrow against your Elekid. If you win, I'll tell you the evolutionary form of Elekid!"

Jessie clutches her fist in excitement. "I can't say no to a Pokémon battle! You're on, Bill! Are you ready, Elekid?"

"Ele!" Elekid cries out in joy.

"That's the spirit!" Jessie recalls Elekid back to its Poké Ball.

Domino yawns. "It's getting late, I think I'll go to bed. Bill, do you have any guest rooms here?"

"Well… I do have a guest room, but only one. I hope you guys don't mind sharing." Bill says.

"We shared a hotel before, we won't have a problem," James responded.

"Meowth, that's right!"

Bill nods. "Very well then. I will see you all tomorrow!"

As the gang leaves Bill's room, it cuts to the Team Rocket trio who are climbing the cliff.

"This is such a stupid idea!" Butch complained.

Cassidy growls. "Shut up Bill and keep climbing!"

"MY NAME IS BUTCH! BILL IS IN THE SEA COTTAGE!" Butch yelled.

Mondo shushes Butch. "Shut it or else you're gonna alarm them!"

Butch growls in frustration but keeps quiet as the Team Rocket trio continues climbing the cliff. However, the wind starts to pick up and blows hard.

"AH!" Cassidy loses grip on the cliff with one of her hands and is now holding on with only one hand. "This stupid wind!" Cassidy starts kicking the air below her in anger.

"We really picked a bad time to climb this cliff," Mondo says.

Cassidy accidentally kicks Butch below her which causes him to let go of the cliff completely. "SHIT!" Butch grabs Cassidy's legs to save himself from falling.

However, that causes her to lose grip with her other hand on the cliff as Cassidy and Butch started falling and screaming, they hit Mondo below when they were falling which also caused him to lose his grip and now the trio is falling to the ocean.

"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET IS-" The trio was cut off by a huge splash from the water when they fell right into the ocean.

Meanwhile, in the guest room, a huge splash was heard which caused the gang to wake up.

"What was that?" Jessie questioned while looking out the window.

"I have no idea," James answered.

"It is windy outside, after all, maybe a big rock fell off the cliff and hit the ocean?" Domino suggested.

"I don't care what it is, I want to go back to sleep!" Meowth complained.

As Meowth goes back to sleep, the trio shrugs at each other as they head off to sleep as well. It cuts to the afternoon outside of the Sea Cottage with Jessie and Bill getting ready for their battle.

"I'll be the referee!" James declared.

"Elekid, I choose you!" Jessie sends out Elekid into battle.

"Ele!" The Pokémon hops onto the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Domino and Meowth are watching this battle closely.

"Jessie, be ready for whatever Pokémon Bill might send out!" Domino says.

"I know, I know, Domino," Jessie responded.

"Jessie, before I send out my Pokémon, do you perhaps have any gym badges?" Bill asked.

"Yeah, I got two of them." Jessie pulls out her badge case and shows it to Bill. "Why ask?"

"To make my Pokémon choice really easy." Bill pulls out a Poké Ball. "Poké Ball, go!"

Bill sends out his Pokémon into battle. It was a purple slimy, amorphous Pokémon.

"Grimer!"

"Woah, what Pokémon is that?" Jessie pulls out the Pokédex from her purse.

"Grimer, a poison-type Pokémon. This Pokémon appears in filthy areas. Thrives by sucking up polluted sludge that is pumped out of factories."

"Grimer huh? No match for Elekid, let's start this off with a Quick Attack!" Jessie commanded.

"Grimer, use Minimize quick!" Bill quickly commanded back.

Elekid tries to strike Grimer with a Quick Attack, but the Grimer minimizes itself. The Pokémon shrinks itself as Elekid misses the move completely and falls on the sand.

"Elekid!" Jessie shouted.

"Now Grimer, use Sludge!"

Grimer goes back to full size as it fires large balls of sludge from its mouth at Elekid, one after the other as the Pokémon starts taking damage.

"Quick Elekid, use Swift!"

Elekid uses Swift against Grimer's Sludge. The move evaporates the sludge and hits Grimer, taking damage.

"Disable!" Bill commanded.

Grimer starts being surrounded by a blue aura, using Disable, as Elekid can't move.

"Come on Elekid, move!"

Elekid tries to move but can't since Grimer is preventing it from moving by using Disable.

Bill smirks. "Time to pull out my special move. Fire Blast, Grimer!"

Grimer shoots flames which take the shape of the kanji right at Elekid and the Pokémon gets hit and damaged. Jessie starts sweating in fear. Meanwhile, Domino and Meowth are watching the match.

"This Bill guy is really tough!" Meowth says, impressed.

Domino nods. "I wonder how Jessie will respond to this."

"Elekid, you can do this, Swift!"

Elekid tries to use Swift, but can't, as sweat is seen on Elekid.

"What?" Jessie says in confusion.

"Elekid can't use Swift because of Grimer's Disable, Jessie! It disabled the move!" Domino yelled.

Jessie looks dumbfounded. "Oh…"

"Alright Grimer, use Fire Blast once more!"

Grimer shoots more flames once more, which take the shape of the kanji right at Elekid again.

"Elekid, dodge quick!"

Elekid quickly manages to dodge the Fire Blast before it can hit.

"Thunder Punch!"

Elekid starts rushing toward Grimer while rubbing its fist together to create electricity as it punches Grimer with an electrified fist. Grimer gets sent back and takes damage, also is paralyzed as well.

Bill's eyes widened. "Oh no!"

Jessie clutches her fist together in excitement. "Yeah, that's what I'm talking about Elekid!"

"Ele!" Elekid jumps up and down in excitement.

"Use Sludge!"

Grimer tries to use Sludge, but the paralyzed got to it as it was unable to move.

"Quick Attack, Elekid!"

Elekid lunges at the Grimer at a speed that makes it almost invisible and lands the Quick Attack as Grimer gets flung back and drops on the ground.

"Grimer, are you alright?!" Bill questioned in worriedness.

Grimer slowly gets up, still able to battle.

"Alright, Sludge!"

Grimer fires large balls of sludge from its mouth at Elekid and it hits as the Pokémon takes more damage.

Jessie starts sweating. "Thunder Punch!"

Elekid starts rushing toward Grimer while rubbing its fist together to create electricity once more.

"Minimize, Grimer!"

Grimer minimizes itself as Elekid misses the Thunder Punch.

Jessie clutches her fist. "Screech!"

The sound of an ear-splitting screech is coming out from Elekid as Grimer holds its ears in pain, which also lowered its defense by two stages.

Bill clutches his fist as well. "Now Fire Blast!"

Grimer goes back to full size and shoots another flame-shaped kanji as it starts heading straight toward Elekid once more.

"Dodge it!"

Elekid dodges the fiery kanji once more before impact.

"Screech again!"

Elekid once again creates an ear-splitting screen right at Grimer. The Pokémon holding its ears and its defense has been lowered by two more stages.

Now Bill looks worried. "Sludge, Grimer!"

Grimer tries to use Sludge, but paralysis kicked up and it was unable to move.

"Thunder Punch, Elekid!"

Elekid starts dashing toward Grimer while rubbing its fist together to create electricity. The Pokémon delivers one Thunder Punch and the move flung Grimer far back as the Pokémon faints.

"Grimer!" Bill yelled, worried.

"Grimer is unable to battle. The winner of this match is Jessie and Elekid!" James declared.

Jessie immediately goes over and hugs her Elekid. "Elekid, you did really great!"

"Ele!" Elekid electrocutes Jessie out of love.

Jessie was now burnt and coughs up smoke. "Okay… too much love." She falls on the sand.

"Grimer, return!" Bill recalls Grimer back to its Poké Ball and looks at it. "You did a really great job Grimer, you deserve a good rest!" He puts the Poké Ball in his pocket.

Domino claps. "That was a really interesting battle, it was really intense!"

"Yeah, I was up on my feet!" Meowth added.

Jessie gets up from the sand. "Alright Elekid, return!" She pulls out Elekid's Poké Ball and is about to return it.

However, Elekid saw the red part on top of the Poké Ball and immediately started screeching in anger. The gang and Bill start holding their ears with their hands.

"AHH, Elekid, what's with you?!" Jessie yelled in confusion.

"I think I know what's wrong! Jessie put your Poké Ball away." Bill commanded.

Jessie immediately puts Elekid's Poké Ball back in her purse as Elekid stops screeching. The gang and Bill uncover their ears.

James groans in pain. "That really hurt…"

"Elekid, you never had a problem with going inside your Poké Ball, what's with you?" Jessie asked.

Elekid looks down at the sand and doesn't respond.

"I think I know the answer why. It's the red part of the Poké Ball." Bill answered.

This only made Jessie more confused. "The red part of the Poké Ball?"

"Well since you won the battle Jessie, I'll tell you the Pokémon that Elekid will evolve into you and explain why the red part of the Poké Ball caused the screeching," Bill says.

Jessie and her friends all gather around while Elekid just continues playing in the sand of the beach.

"After analyzing the details and Elekid's actions toward its Poké Ball, I can safely say that Elekid will evolve to… may I see your Pokédex, Jessie?" Bill asked.

Jessie nods and pulls out her Pokédex and hands it to Bill.

Bill starts typing in the Pokédex as he smiles, signaling he found the Pokémon that he was looking for in Jessie's Pokédex. "The Pokémon that Elekid will evolve into is…" Bill pauses to add suspense, he turns over Jessie's Pokédex.

It revealed an image of a yellow-black slightly humanoid Pokémon with a few feline traits and has a large, lightning bolt-shaped stripe on its chest, a V-shaped stripe on its forehead, one stripe on its side, a thick stripe down its back, two bands on each leg, several broken bands on each arm, and many rings around its long tail.

"Electabuzz!" Bill says, confirming the Pokémon's name.

The gang all expressed shock as their jaws dropped.

Jessie takes her Pokédex back to look at the image of Electabuzz in her Pokédex. "I can definitely see it and the name is similar as well."

Bill starts explaining more. "Electabuzz is sent into a rage by the color red. So when an Elekid starts expressing this behavior, it means they're really close to evolving very soon. Which is why your Elekid screeched when it saw its Poké Ball, Jessie. Your Elekid is close to evolving!"

"That's great! I'm happy for you, Jessie!" Domino says, generous.

James nods. "Yeah, I can't wait until Elekid evolves!"

"Meowth, that's right!"

Jessie looks back at Elekid. "Wow, my Elekid is close to evolving." She slightly smiles at her Elekid, feeling glad. "I guess I'll return it while it's distracted by the sand." Jessie chuckles. She pulls out Elekid's Poké Ball and recalls Elekid and succeeds this time because Elekid was too focused on playing in the sand to notice.

"Well, I guess we should get going, Bill," James says.

Domino nods. "Yeah, we have to get to Vermilion City!"

"OH, that reminds me!" James looks at Bill. "Bill, do you know the exact direction to Vermilion City?"

Bill chuckles and rubs his head. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you guys have been going in the wrong direction."

"WHAT?!" The gang immediately yelled out loud in response.

Bill takes James' map and points at the right-hand corner, the location of his house. "This spot right here is where my house is located, if you keep going right, you will reach a dead end."

The gang immediately falls in disbelief and they get back up.

Meowth growls in frustration. "I'm never trusting Jimmy with a map ever again!"

James rubs his head in embarrassment. "Oops…"

Domino groans. "But it took us days to reach here, now it's going to take even longer!"

Jessie looks down in sadness. "I will never catch up with Leaf."

"Don't worry! I will lead you guys to the right path!" Bill takes out a Poké Ball and sends out a draconic, bipedal reptilian Pokémon with light orange skin as the Pokémon roars.

Jessie immediately points her Pokédex at the Pokémon.

"Dragonite. A dragon and flying-type Pokémon. An extremely rarely seen marine Pokémon. Its intelligence is said to match that of humans."

"Whoa!" The gang all said, impressed.

"Wait, why didn't you battle me with Dragonite?" Jessie asked.

"I only battle trainers with Dragonite if they have at least six badges. Dragonite is a really tough and strong Pokémon after all. Since you only had two Jessie, I used Grimer to be fairer." Bill explained.

"Really? Well, thanks!" Jessie says.

Bill hops on Dragonite's back. "Don't be shy, hop on!"

The gang all also hop on Dragonite's back as Bill commands it to take off, as it does so. It cuts to the Team Rocket trio on the shore slowly waking up and seeing the Dragonite up in the air with the gang.

"THE TWERPS ARE LEAVING, TO OUR BALLOON!" Cassidy yelled as she sprinted off with Butch and Mondo right behind her.

It cuts to the gang and Bill on the ground.

"This is Route 6, just go straight and you will reach Vermilion City!" Bill confirmed.

Jessie smiles. "Thank you so much, Bill!"

"One more thing, this is for helping me turn myself back into a human." Bill gives Jessie a ticket. "This is a ticket for the famous S.S. Anne that would be sailing off soon. I would go, but I'm too busy with Pokémon research, so I want you to have it."

"Wow, thank you so much, Bill!" Jessie puts the S.S. Anne ticket in her purse.

The gang and Bill wave goodbye at each other as Bill hops on Dragonite and they take off. We see the gang walking on the trail.

"Over time, we uncovered new information about the mysterious ways of the Pokémon! The more knowledge we gain, the more we realize the little that we actually do know. And so the journey of discovery continues in the incredible world of Pokémon!"
