Chapter 5 - Restored

Six Years Later

She was here standing in the place where she had been hurt. It's odd to think that if the school alumni organizer knew that she was the same Omega wolf whom they had despised before, would she even be invited as a guest speaker here? Ember wondered if Jayden would be coming for the alumni fellowship later tonight.

Well, he must come. She can't wait to make him pay. She can't wait to destroy the alpha of the alpha club, Livy's mean girls' group, and the rest of the pack that made her life miserable before.

'Madam, the shop has called. They already had prepared the place for your exclusive shopping,' her assistant informed her.

Ember nodded, 'Okay, let's go then,' she ordered.

The moon lore is famous for shopping by both humans and wolves. The shop signifies status. They sell luxury clothes, and access to here not just money but connections. They only allow people they know or wolves of the prominent packs. This shop is closed for her exclusive shopping means she's not just a simple VIP customer. She has a name.

Ember stepped out with pride from her luxurious sports car, a yellow Lexus 500. Yeah, this time, she no longer walks with a lowered head, but she holds her head high, looking at each person she meets in the eyes, without fear, without hesitation. Just exuding confidence. Ember's eyes caught how the shop attendants became frantic when they sensed her arrival.

One opened the door for her, while the others made sure that the shop would be full for her consumption at this certain time.

Ember sat on the couch gracefully while the shop assistant served her drink, and the others pulled out the clothes for her to choose from. She was engrossed with the gown's designs when a figure from the outside caught her attention.

It was Livy.

She could clearly see how annoyed her face was from where she was sitting. Livy wanted to enter the shop, but it was closed. Later she tried banging the door which concerns the attention of the manager.

'Hey, Liv stop it! You're acting brat again!'

Ember's ears ticked when he heard that familiar voice. It was like her blood rushed in rage at the sound of it. Of course, she's a wolf, and she's no ordinary, she could hear and know someone even from a distance, and she was sure that it was Jayden who had just spoken. Ember rose from her seat and slowly walked to the entrance door to check if it was really Jayden whom she heard. Good thing this shop's door was tinted, she couldn't be seen from the inside. Only she can see them.

Nothing had changed. Jayden Luca was still the same irresistible alpha whom everyone had known. And the fact that he's with Livy now, only means that he's still that mean, heartbreaker alpha who ruined her heart years ago. His circle of friends tells who he is. He's b***s** just like them.

Livy was already putting up an act so the manager had no choice but to talk to them outside.

'Let us in! Don't you know that my grandfather was an investor here!' Livy demanded.

'But the shop is closed for exclusive shopping, ma'am!' the manager explained.

'Exclusive shopping? Who the hell is that customer huh?' Livy shouted, struggling to get into the shop.

'Let her in.' Ember interrupted.

All eyes turned to her as if in slow motion as they were all surprised by her meddling. The manager wasn't expecting that she would willingly share the shop with the intruder. While Livy and Jayden stared at her in surprise, not expecting that the person who reserved the shop would be this beautiful and intimidating.

Livy scoffed after she regained from the shock.

'So, who are you?' she asked raising one eyebrow.

'Uh, she's Ember. Layne Ember of the Spectral Moon Coven.'

The shop manager answered on her behalf.

'Oh, so you're a witch?' Livy's eyes trailed on her from head to foot. 'Yeah, actually her ancestors own a large part of shares of this shop, of Moonlyre clothing company,' the manager explained.

'Hmm...your name sounds familiar!' Livy commented.

Then she smirked, 'Now I remember,' she chuckled, then she shook her head, 'You share the same name with a lowly Omega, but of course, you look too different from her! She's ugly, and you're not,' Livy said.

'She even disappears like a bubble--'

'Liv, enough!' Jayden reprimanded.

'Sorry,' he looked at Ember with apologetic eyes. She ignored him. Then she turned to Livy, 'One rule, just don't pick my choice!' she muttered with a raised eyebrow, then she turned her back at them.

Jayden was curious about the beautiful lady who reserved the shop for exclusive shopping. She's elegant. She moves with grace. He could tell that she was no ordinary, that she was smart and brilliant. She has that intimidating aura, that commanding look in her eyes. Layne Ember of the Spectral Moon Coven. That name! Damn! Of all names why does she have a similar name to that Omega who's been causing me sleepless nights?

Alumni Fellowship

The guests arrived in their elegant suits. Everything looks formal and glamorous. The waltz music drifted through the air as the visitors were given a welcome drink upon arrival. It was said that the first part of the alumni fellowship is a formal program where a guest of inspiration will be introduced for a talk.

'I wonder who's that special guest speaker. I heard she's not even an alumna here, the school organizer should have picked someone else!' Livy noted. 'Who then? You?' asked one of her friends.

Laughter.

Livy glared at them.

After all these years, her mean girl group was still intact.

'Why not?' Livy flipped her hair and held her chin up.

'I graduated with outstanding honors!' she added.

The other friend of hers smirked, "You could have not if your secret was out. Imagine what the school will say if they know that you murdered---'

Livy frowned, glaring at her friends, " sshhh! I'll cut your tongue!"

Her friends were immediately silenced.

'Oh, there he is!' Livy's mood suddenly became cheerful when she saw Jayden from afar. He already arrived. He's with his alpha club. Livy was supposed to go near him but the smile on her face faded when a group of girls came near to greet Jayden.

Even before in college days, Jayden was a presence in events like this. Heads turn whenever he arrives. The girls were thrilled at the sight of his. He even got more popular when he became associated with the Alpha of Alphas club, an organization of the most sought bachelor alphas from different packs.

Now, after 6 years, he had become its chairman. Tonight he had drawn the girls' attention when he arrived dashing in her plain black suit. As usual, he greeted them with his warm smile, but later his attention was disrupted by the host's voice announcing that the guest speaker would now render her inspiring speech.

The guests were all silenced as they were intrigued by the mysterious guest speaker. Actually, unlike the previous fellowship party, it was this year's alumni fellowship where the identity of the guest speaker was not revealed in advance. With that, the guests' curiosity was even more enticed, and Jayden wasn't exempted from that. "Now, let's call on the guest of honor for tonight's alumni fellowship, Layne Ember!" the host announced.

Layne Ember!

For no reason, Jayden's heart pounded. And he felt it race even more when he saw Ember walk to the center front, stunning, graceful, and elegant in her white formal evening gown. Its slit in front reveals her flawless long legs, and the huge ribbon on one shoulder side gives her a stylist formal vibe. Ember speaks, and then she pauses to smile at the crowd.

Oh s***! Her smile! Why do I feel like it's familiar? Jayden asked himself.
